Hey, I have a compatible USB cable and related software for the C170. But the PC just does not register the phone!! Can someone help me out here pls? I would like to use the phone-PC link to download some ringtones and images. FYI the charger, earphones, AV cable and datacable from Samsung X820 work perfectly with this model. pls mail me at lizzy_0808@yahoo.com with any suggestions or tips.

I own this phone too. Here are some stuff that i feel are the disadvantages:

1) Wont I be able to see my sent messages? :-O I dont see any options for that. Can anybody help?
2) Ringtones are not at all good. I dont think you will be able add new ones too. Also, for ppl like me who want just descent simple ringtones, something like continuous beep, this is not the phone.
3) UI is not good at all. The very first option I see is "SIM AT". Although i dont know what it means, its only natural to think that more frequently used options should come first in the list like "messages", "Alarms" etc. Options like "Network service selection" will have to come at last, whereas its put 3rdin this phone. "Messages" option comes a distant 5th, after "Sound settings"!
If someone knows if this order can be changed, please let me know.

Dear Samsung Users,

Here's the solution for your alarm problems. After setting/adjusting the alarm time -- Once Alarm / Daily Alarm / Morning Call / Autopower -- press the OK/i button. And alarm will be activated. And after getting out of all the menus you will get the bell graphic logo on top and middle of the stand-by screen -- provided that graphic logo display is enabled within Display Settings.

Congratulations for having a SAMSUNG mobile communications device. SAFE electronics with innovative designs at par excellence.

I simply love the models that Samsung comes up with and this one is no exception. It has all the features that are needed from a basic phone plus FM. It does have a calender and reminder settings as well as an alarm clock with repetition facility. It looks small and sleek and is so lightweight. Real sexy phone to have in hand.

Check the specs before you buy this phone, I did. The std. battery is 730mah, TT: 2.5hrs and SB: 270hrs. Info from Samsung websitsite, big difference.

and why cant u record ur own ringtones! becuase it has a mic ( for voice memo) and a speakphone.

I love the size, FM radio is good and call quality and battery life are fine.

The menu/navigation though is terrible, it is extremely inefficient. The worst part is the messages, the first option when you click options when viewing a message is delete, you have to scroll down the menu 2 positions to get to reply.

The phone also cannot vibrate and ring at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the slimmest ever still the excellent sound quality FM !! worth giving the 2700 bugs for the combination
only thing it lacks is the UI it should be improved and also the model information is not available on the samsung site.

Had to rewrite software cos T-mobile didnt put wap icon in it. Now everything is ok

I cant find wap browser anywhere, even under funbox menu, my phone is bought from T-mobile, maybe i need new software or so?

I am using this for last two months.Its good looking now its on sale with extended facilities.

Advantages: FM quality is too good.good display
All functionalities are very nice.

Dis adv: low volume without headphones, with headphone only hear well compare than other brands. Downloaded ringtones volume is too low.

There's also a third, "morning call" alarm type. Which lets you set alarm for either monday to friday or monday to saturday!

To answer ppl's questions.. Phone has calendar, alarms (once off alarm, daily, + can even turn off phone and have it turn on with alarm!). This is what a phone should be! it's amazing!
