MENU > 9 > 4 > Here scroll and SELECT English as all the languages' names are displayed in that language characters. Simple, right? :)

The MENU and SELECT key would be the top-left key -- i.e, the key right above the green dial key.

Solution: Long press the # button should bring the phone back to the normal mode. The blue cell-phone icon should then disapper. Enjoy!

1. Copy all your contacts and messages to the SIM card. And write down -- on paper -- message centre number and all other settings.

2. Remove the SIM card.

3. Charge the battery FULL.

4. Hard Reset the phone by entering the following codes.

*2767*JAVA# -- full Java Reset and deletes all Java midlets if any. Wait for 5 minutes.

*2767*MEDIA# Reset Media deletes all sounds and pics. Wait for 5 minutes.

*2767*WAP# Wap Reset. Wait for 5 minutes.

*2767*CUST# Reset Custom EEPR0M. Wait for 5 minutes.

*2767*FULL# Reset Full EEPR0M. Don't worry, it won't hard the C170 at all. Wait for 5 minutes.

For example : *2767*JAVA# would be keyed in as *2767*5282#

Then insert the SIM and be happy with your C170 :) It would feel like using a freshly formatted PC. Got the idea?

i have been using samsung c170 for the past 2.5 years..it is my first mobile..anybody who has seen this mobile in my hands have been envious of it because of its puny looks(never got caught in college for carrying a mobile for this reason :-)..)i find its ringtone volume good..
from the past 6 month i have been facing problems like, the mobile gets switched off automatically and does not switch on..but i figured out that if i remove the battery out for half n hour n then put it back in and then try switching it on,it works properly..
all in all, i find this mobile to be best choice for a college student..
