I'm loving reading down through these comments. I understand the desire to have the Symbian OS on your phone, but if you want that sort of capability, buy a Hand-held PC, if you want an MP3 player, buy one, if you want a fancy digital camera, than buy one.
But, if you want a really good phone (like this one) then you'll be happy at all the nice extra features that this PHONE provides!
Get your facts right, I have the D500 and I have connected to a Motorola V3 and was able to browse the V3 files through my D500 directly. This isn't called pairing, its called bonding (I think). I have also paired up with a Nokia 6600 and a Sony Ericsson Z600.
So, just what are you talking about when you say it has bluetooth issues . . . NO IT DOESN'T!! This phone's bluetooth works very well and works at a good speed too.
I own this phone. If you're going to bluetooth stuff onto it then you're going to have some trouble and you're going to be quite restricted, but all can be overcome, just visit;
This guy has detailed instructions on how to overcome the problems. I got a bluetooth dongle yesterday and followed his instructions - they definitely work!
This phone is kool, it has loads of memory space, so external memory isn't an issue (for those who want loads of MP3s on their phone . . . - buy an MP3 player!). The camera is brilliant (better in well lit conditions than in dark ones - a short delay in clicking to take a photo and actually taking the photo). This is a very usable phone and the groovy smoothe sliding action is undescribable - go buy this phone!
Samsung D500's video recording is up to 1 hour, A very good phone. One of the best money can buy.
im highly considering buying this phone on ORANGE UK and im also highly considering buying it on O2 UK how ever they both use their own software and orange lock their phones and i was wandering how do you flash these phones?? cos i want the standard up to date samsung software. i can easily get hold of an T100 serial cable from my friend which ive been told is used to do this. i just want to know where can i get the up to date flashing software and how do i do it....if poss can someone email me the software and some instructions please.

So is there a version of the d500 or d500e that I can use here in the states with Cingular?
Does anyone know how to program the default wap setting on the "ok/i" button. I can access my wap from the browser, but the keep getting "http error:500 internal service error" when i try to access my wap through the "ok/i" button.
What can i say..? A great phone with a rich display(256k), good camera(1,3mp), a huge memory(96+4mb),mp3,video,bluetooth...etc. The only think that i don`t like is the size of this phone.The E800 is smaller. Why you did not make D500 at the size of E800???
i heard the bluotooth connection is not working as smooth as other phones, eg nokia, sonyericsson. can anyone confirm on this? really looking fwd to get this phone.
is it true about the speakerphone aswell? too bad if it is :(
Does anyone know when the D500E (with EDGE technology) will be available in the UK. I think it is already out in Italy
