I have had one of these for 2 years and it is the best phone that I have owned. I upgraded to the newer version and ended up selling that and returning to my trusty 500.
A great phone, long battery life and just the right weight with a great sliding action.

I have had mine for two years and, in my opinion, its the best, tightest bundle there is. Correct weight and fits beautifully in the palm of my hand. The sliding action of this phone is engineering art. No fumbling as in the clam shell. Navigation is logical and is quick to master. 1.3megapix camera still does the trick for reference shots.
I drowned it accidentally in VB(Australian beer)one hot morning and thought I had killed it. Panic naturally set in as I thought of the time consuming consequences losing all those numbers would bring about. Now I have A Motorola v9....and miss my D500 terribly.

I've had this phone for a year and it's a nice phone, pretty and works really nice, but there are new phones with more features than this, i had a nice experience with it but now i want another one with a better resolution and more memory. Actually this model has already been discontinued in my country.

I had this phone since December 2005 and now I don't have it. Got stolen this weekend...sucks! I can say it's been the greatest phone I've ever had. I've tried many other brands: Motorola, Nokia, LG, Siemens, etc and none have performed as the Samsung SGH-D500. Now I have to buy a new phone and I will stick with Samsung. My main problem now is finding one that will be as good or better that the D500. Looking into the D900, U600 and U700.

I've had this phone since March 2005, and it's still running like brand new. I've dropped it SOOOOO many times, and it still works fine. I was even twirling it on my finger via the wrist strap, the strap breaks, and my phone goes flying a good 10-15 feet and tubles to a halt on the cement with no issues. Very durable. The screen only now is getting tiny scratches from my coin pocket, but it doesn't mess with the visibility of the screen.

I've been using it in the USA as well, and my overall reception is awesome. I just newly acquired a k800i so this phone is going in the back up phone box. It'll be missed, but it was time for something new.

I would suggest this phone to anyone. It's great, and really lasts over the years.

People are right when they say this phone is almost indestructable. i've had this phone for 3 years and dropped it on concrete floors and hit it on hard objects so many times but there's barely even a scratch! i've never had a problem with this phone. the only problem i've had is with my stupid phone company. for those of you who do have problems with it, its probably a defect or something must have happened to it....but i love this phone so much, i don't know what new phone i can get to replace it...
