it is still alive after almost 4 years and sliding mechanism is still ok and not loose!
phone is very responsive and fast in comparison to my brand new nokia n95.

> In reply to Riesel John @ 2008-10-18 03:30 from PvW1I have been enjoying the phone for the past two years plus now. My question is 'can it be affected by virus or any form of threat if I download song or video through bluetooth or Infra red to it.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-09-07 16:25 from 0y9@You dropped it in a pint and it worked after that?
This I cannot believe because in my case it got soaked because of monsoon rains in India and it stopped working. I've had to send it to repairs and it cost me an additional 2000 rupees (EUR 60) on top of the already pricey EUR 300 I had paid for it. Other than that I still love the design, better than many a new phone, a bit thick by todays standards though and neat features except uploading java games (very cumbersome process)

> In reply to Nelle @ 2008-09-03 20:55 from 0T3hIt's not a samsonite; can handle a rino. Even if u r 17, the D500 will last. But as you are writing it now, it has been out of production which means second hand. What ever happend to the thing before??

Throughout all of the phones I've owned, from Motorolas, Nokias, Sony Ericssons, LGs, and the iPhone, the D500 remains my favorite. The design is just sexy and it just was so fun to talk on. If only they could build on this design and release a phone similar to it but with modern features like 4gb+ flash memory, a 3.5mm headphones jack, and the like, I would get it in a heartbeat.
