I hate the fact that it's not metal.... It's supposed to be a business phone so it's gotta be made of metal..........

I like the look and functionality of this phone.... It's simple but stylish and neat... Is the battery life of this phone good?

Hey Prakash are you sure the phone's casing is not made of metal? Based from the pictures I'd like to think that they are made of metal as I think phones made of metal are more durable... And also is it possible to use an extended battery for this phone as in Samsung F500?

well to be honest i tested out the phone for day as for a start up it takes sometime as it needs to register both sims as one will be the primary & secondary, and yes even during calls you can switch via using the button on the left hand side of the phone for the 2nd incoming calls , same goes to sending out sms & mms . The best part is it shares the same phone book , as for camera is pretty good to me. as for those with smaller hands you might find the phone slightly big. the phone is not built with a metal body but comes with strong plastic structure around it. As for the color screen , samsung has always been the best , but it tends to leave much finger print on the screen unless you do have a screen protector...friendly user as well. As for me for the 1st time using the phone it took me a while to get used to it as i always tend to press the " sim switch' button thinking it's a volume button . you will see both network bars on the screen on the left hand side of the phone whereby you can name your sim 1 & sim 2 i cant comment much on the battery life but as i am not a heavy user i guess it's acceptable , i would be carrying 2 phones in the future is so much easier & faster ...they will release it in malaysia around RM 1299 slightly cheaper than the D880 , officially to be launched mid of june 2008...excellent speaker phone as for the ring tone kind of soft especially from the default tones. you could disable your 1st sim or your 2nd sim according to what you want to do , so rather than that is a great phone , especially on switching sims .According to my buddy who is the test engineer for samsung this will be the final product and there would not be any additional features to be implemented to the phone ...that's about it guys !!!

Hey there there's not much about the Samsung D780 as of yet since it hasn't been released. But for me I think it's over-all better than the D880 since I like D780's build and look, with just the right features that I care about... And I think reagarding the dual sim function they have eliminated the flaws which are present in the D880. So let's just have to wait and see...

Hey guys I think this phone, is over-all better than its predecessor, the D880. It has better looks, solid looking without those other features that I don't really use.. What I want to know is if it has a metal body and has anyone tried to use it already??? Please respond... thanks

this phone is a downgrade from d880. First of all, the model is d780. Why not d890 or 980, etc.? second of all, this phone has 2mp camera, the d880 has 3.15mp with autofocus, fm radio, tv out, 60mb memory and bigger screen display with 2.3 inch., etc, etc...

a lot of chinese cellphones are now coming out of the market with functions of active dual sim. Those are great but no warranty. I hope that before they can pirate those models samsung, nokia, sony ericsson and the rest should anticipate the competition. I have tried the "myphone" dual sim, the problem is that when you compose text message on the second active sim it is only limited to 160 characters. i hope that this samsung model will not be the same.

Samsung D780 is the successor of its widely renowned D880, Samsungs first GSM dual standby mobile. While D880 is a luxurious slider form factor, D780 incorporates minimal and sophisticated bar type design with premium dark silver color and mirror silver color.
Similar to D880, the Samsung D780 also offers strong multimedia features such as 2-megapixel camera, 2.1 crystal clear QVGA TFT display and FM radio. Furthermore, it also equips long-lasting 1200 mAh battery and strong connectivity through Bluetooth® 2.0 and USB 2.0.
Samsung D780 will first be available in Russia from May and in Southeast Asia, Europe, and Middle East shortly afterwards.
Strengthening its leadership in GSM dual standby market, Samsung will offer more diverse dual standby mobiles during the remaining year.
