Hi... I wanted to buy this phone .. before that i would like to know
1.if the sound qualoty is good enough ...
2.Is the Ring tone loud enough to hear while driving if Vibration is not active.
3.How about the Battery Back up?
4.Can the call time be viewed during active call without entering into Call history?
5.How about Messaging ? Is it easy?

Hi, One thing I would like to ask about the phone is that can I feed several Phone Nos. under one name Say Rajesh (res., Off., Mb.1, Mb.2, Biz.1, Biz.2 etc.) instead of giving names as Rajesh res., Rajesh Off. Rajesh Mb.1,Rajesh Mb.2,Rajesh Biz.1,Rajesh Biz.2. The second most thing that when i view i want to view only the primary number under the name rajesh. A feature i am at present using in my phone motorola L6i.

I have been using it for 2 weeks now...and i can't believe how i was able to live without it! the only thing i miss is my X820 ability to view vidoes thru the TV out cable which would have been a plus if it existed in the D780.

hey i have the samsung D880 but it only can support 200 sms..is the d780 the same? or we can store more messages? what about the Opera mini,can we download it on it?

Hi, I have been using the D780 for a couple weeks now and so far I guess it has served me well except for that I am not well acquainted with the how samsung operates and find it a tad "long winded" when you want to do some functions ....like sending sms and choosing who to send to... it's like by the time I get it done, I would probably have send a couple more sms using my old phone (sony ericsson K618i) but I guess I will get used to it....
Anyway, I have 1 grouse or maybe not.... I find that the primary line has a stronger signal than the secondary.... I keep getting disruption (line dropped) and sometimes netting msg like "network rejected" when making calls from the secondary sim....
Anyone has experienced this? I will complain to the network provider to see if it is actually their problem and not the phone...

@JAMES: Man ... i don't know why you post without reading the manual ... you are out of the problem. I HAVE THE PHONE, I USE BOUTH SIM IN THE SAME TIME, IT WORKS PERFECT.
@MUSCARIN: About the EDGE function ... i don't know what are you talking about ... if you don't want EDGE don't use the phone as a modem ... EDGE is faster then GPRS ... this is the reason for buying the device ... is faster the other "no name-Made in China" or "dual sim Nokia N73 copy".
By the way it has a measured SAR (0.75) value ... no sar value for "no name".
I have it and i'm happy with it. Worth every cent.

so mainly the reason why others are asking if both work together is that, there are cellphone units with dual sim function but you can only use 1 sim at a time then put in code to switch to the other sim, some phones have simultaneous sim.... so understand why others are asking for clarifications sake...shiiiiish...

If you purchased the phone already, perhaps you should read the instruction manual. I dont understand why everyone is askng the same question again and again - yes, both SIMS work at the same time. Thats the whole point of this phone.

One sim rings and vibrates with ringtone A, the other sim rings and vibrates with ringtone B (same goes for SMS) - that way I know exactly whether its a 'work' call or a 'private' call :)
