No it does not have a flash....
This is a good phone. My only gripe is It feels cheep and plastic, I've had loads of Samsung phones and they have always beaten the compatition becaus the feel so well built, The always feel sturdy But this hanset feels cheep and plasticy. It moght be becaus it's so light. The D820 feels much better in the hand.

If you had the choice, would you prefer this model, or the D720 in terms of build quality and functionality? Or is there another slider phone under $350 USD that is better?

Well, I've had the phone for a while now. I love it. Dont listen to the bad comments. It has a big, bright screen and its features rock. It has a better camera than the D600 (the 1.3 MP of the D800 is still better than the 2.0 MP of the D600, what is supposed). I've had the D600 and the D800 has everything better, except the D600 is smaller. I've noticed the D600's screen isn't as bright as the D800's screen.

well i've only had my D800 a couple of days and must say i'm impressed!! it's a very nice phone with plenty of features...ok so its not got a memory card slot but it has more than enough memory for what i want. i've just got rid of a nokia 6280 which was a nice phone but quite heavy....i've also had the D600 which i kept for a 2 weeks! but the D800 get 9 out of 10 from me!! its light, slim, stylish and has a large screen for viewing!

well what can i say..i love the phone. Seriously i have fallen in love with it, i really don't see why people have so many complaints about it because in my opinion there really isn't much wrong with the phone..before this i had the D600 and well what can i say The D600 has absolutely nothing on the D800!! Its simply great..worth the money!!

I bought it a month ago.I was not very sure which telephone to buy between d800,d600,w810 and 6131 and i went for the most elegant. It looks amazing, has enough memory for my needs, pictures and video are good enough for a phone, very good and clear sound.D600 and w810 have better features but i think a phone must be good looking first of all.
Cons:average battery life(around 2 days)

i bought it about 2 weeks ago and its simply great. the screen is big and of good quality. the screen is also kind of scratch-proof as i've had it already for some time and it doesnt have one scratch, and im not one of those people who wrap the phone around a handkerchief so it wont get scratched. the design is excellent and luxurious and all of my friends love it and they compare it with the nokia 8800. keypad is good and one-of-a-kind and the lighting is also very good. no regrets... good sliding too. i advise everyone to buy it. ps: pictures look very good on the phone

Bought this phone a week back, being the first time owning a Samsung I can't really comment on how good it is or not in comparison to the D600.
This is the first real move up for me in the mobile phone market and I must say I am very impressed with my D800. Some have said the texting is bad? I have large fingers and have experienced very little problems with the texting mode one criticism I have on that is the predictive texting ( total waste of space ) Samsung take a look at the Motorola L6 predictive texting is spot on.
Love the compactness of the phone but hate the browser button being incorporated in the main centre button I keep finding I have to cancel it a lot.
The playback on the MP3 and videos is quite low????? but not a real problem however videoing drag seriously needs a look at?
Love the compactness of the phone and the loss of Mega Pixel people talk about doesn’t really bother me.
My major snipes on this phone are:
1. Battery life is abysmal I have to charge the thing every day however my Nokia 3220 has not been recharged in the past four days.
2. The My folder feature is a total waste of space. the statement my folder would suggest it is for your personal messages / pictures however Samsung forgot to integrate a password protection for this file so making it publicly available should you have nosey friends and family. Granted you can input a phone lock pin etc but once you've done that your phone is extremely venerable.
Lets hope the phone has a flash memory ability and Samsung develop an free software upgrade to close that loophole.
3. The fact that you loose the mega pixels and the phone does not allow for upgrading memory I can see being a major bug bare for some and to say the Phone is an upgrade of the D600 concerns me because looking at both phones knowing what I know now about the both phones I’d have gone with the D800 even if it is a little more bulky.
All the mini moaning apart I think this phone is a very good phone. But the my folder situation is a major issue to me and would have governed my choice of how much I paid for the phone.
