D830 will be out in mid aug in singapore, 4 colours avail, black with dots first, then black. follow red then white.

This is wider as the rectent trande is in korea..wide but thin. It sure has a better screen QVGA 204x320 compared to moto's V3i with 176x220.
The reason that it has a small grayscle externall screen is mainly to cut down the bettery use. Thats save some money as well.
But dont expect this to be cheap. Samsung UNLOCKED phones ..when released are expensive because of the retailers.
The main selling point for this model is, its 9.9mm and a calmshell..no one has such thin Clamshell in the market now.
But wait for one month or two and the price will be less than half.
If you get samsung basic phone with new contracts sometimes it comes free in US or europe..sometime even amazon gives you $100 for buying it along with contracts. So it all depeneds on deal and time.
I agree it doesnt look like Samsung is looking to make cheap phones. They are into realeasing phones that are damn good is design...they are into making records...thinnest phone..8GB phone..10mp phone...they are not competeting with nokia or motorola on that.

i just saw the x830 and found it to be quite wide and this model is even wider. it's even wider than motorola's razr v3i by 1mm if the spec are correct. you have to have big hands to use this phone, i think. :) Another thing, someone posted an opinion saying that samsung is not to keen on having a second external screen on its clampshell. i think this has to do more with trying to cut the price of its phone so as to stay competitve not because they are no longer interested in haveing an external screen. Samsung phones are quite expensive. even their supposed mid or lo range phone, if you call it that way. Example is x150, it is supposed to be simple clampshell phone but it is still more expensive than other phones which have more features compared to x150. Samsung will never be number 1 in the cellphone market cause they don't really have a low end phone in the market today, low end phones comprise majority of the cell phones being sold today that's why nokia is number 1.

nowadays samsung has lost its market there was a time when samsung hit the market when they released r220 c100 and even x100 was a hit but after that they jsut dont improve their features they stick with the same features in every mobile phone even if you see d500 you can see the same menu functions which were in c100!!!!!!!!!!! c mon samsung improve your phones and now samsung has started copying lg phones !!!!!!!yeh sure one bigeest problem no vibration with ring uhhhh

My Motorola phone does have 1000 entry capabilities. Not sure what you are calling a new phone. I notice that battery size wasn't called out. Usually that means it sucks!

1000 entries is standard..do you know any model that has more that that. I think you should go to Motorola forum and ask them to do something about it, coz they are the one who comes up with new models that has 100-500 entries only.
