Had this phone for a year and its tuff as they come been dropped about 20 times still working fine. I finally got so sick of the sound i took it apart and turned around the speaker and made some fine holes for the sound to come through and have not missed a call yet and mp3's are much louder when its closed. Its perfect now.

hey i have this phone it's nice. to set the phone on silent mode. press (#) for some seconds.

Hi! does any of you know haw to set a silent mode in this phone? I have found in user's guide ofcourse about the phone acting while the silent mode is on but WHERE THE FU.. IS THE OPTION TO SET THIS MODE???!!! there is nothing about it in the manual :(
If any of you is a bit brighter than me and has already found haw to do it, please write it here.

Hi, I am a proud owner of this phone. Yeah, there are a lot of problem with this phone, but the worst of all is the Speaker problem. Anyone out there who know any place or how i can fix the speaker so it can sound louder? Please post a link.
Finally, I had found a way to install JAVA games and apps to this phone by using the memory card and not by using WAP. Email me for more info.

Ive had the phone for a while now..and it sucks. I got it because it looked great. The ringtones are so low that in a noisy environment u can barely hear it. The keyboard is hard to get used to at first..but after a while its ok. the biggest problem is the reception, its simply terrible..and the phone needs to be charged often. This was by far the worse phone i had, now i got the n95 and it is just amazing.

i hav d838 same as d830.what is da different between those models?
anoher thing.i cant add music files(mp3,aac) which r in memory sticks sub folders to the play lists.
eg:-memory stick\MUSIC\my artist\song.mp3
can add files only in memory stick\MUSIC folder.is this a common problem.i hav a samsung x700 and it works.
next thing is i cnt set video files to the contacts details.but the manual says it is possible.
can anyone pls help me with this.

Hello All..
I like samsung's mobiles.And at this time im still using d830.I used Prviously x700,D820..what i need in mobile..Camera must should be Exellent.sound must should be Good in handfree.Not should be in normal phone's speaker (its not good for office)..
And I must need Record conversation...and Full screen movie play..D820 has record conversation in durring call option...
But d830 has not appear option for record conversation..but we can easily do like that..after durring call press option menu, application,Voice record and press i button..or press option 2,3,2,i...all other comany's mobile that have record conversation .they will bust give a beep after 5 or 20 second like se nokia..and caller can hear that beep and must know abt ur recording...D830 has Great LCD and Camera.. And has great sound and u can do everything after play the music .cause media player can hide by press back button..
I like d830 2.it can play full screen movie play.. when u play movie just press 1 key.And samsung has a great security for ur personal sms and files . it can lock by a password.. not in other company's mobiles..
I suggest u that if want a Great Display and Cam . u must should check the samsung one...sandstormmix@yahoo.com

+ Love the slim line of this phone but with the speakers in the ear the music is pretty low.. that sucks

omg its battery does not last a day when playin and listeninf music !! thats horrible! besides .. the sound of it s really really low and the vibration cant be turned on cause it makes the battery end up even quicker
this phone sux a lot for me with that damm battery that i have already changed . it has that 3 months garantee and i took it to the samsung assistance technique but it keeps not lasting ..

I've got a big question bugging me...If i were to buy an sgh-d830 in malaysia now, will it be usable when i go over to texas to further my studies next year? You know, issues about compatibality of softwares, service provider...etc etc. Could someone kindly enlighten me on this pls?

This is a GREAT PHONE, i like it a lot. Where can i find Games,aplications,for this phone for FREE? Why only two colors for the menu, Black and white?

Whats up!!! Man I don’t understand why English only? (point 3) if you tell about the discrimination (point 4)!!!!!!!! Any way. I just want to say that its the best phone y ever see, I have been compare it with others and Samsung always be winner. The screen its very good, the pictures have better quality than others (phones) whit 2 mp camera ( I don’t now why), and the video have a super quality MP4 352x288 resolution super super super better than others. But I don’t like: >low sound, you cant use sound and vibration at same time, you can only use the preset melodies for messages, but all it really doesn’t matter, the others functions cover it (you really don’t need it). I can study my PowerPoint presentations ,and watch my documents of Word, and many other thing. Like watch my beyonces videos (mp4) no one cant

I have this phone and i'm using it and the pro is that this phone has a very large scrren. 2.2 inc witch I like the most
and also external card and so on..
con is that it is actually hard to press the button since it's embedded into the phone
, the opening the program takes some time ,and the sound is not so loud.

deciding between d830, d840, and z370...
is it true that you cant set your own photos as wallpaper with the d840?? sad.
can anyone give me pros and cons between these three models? thanks a lot!
wudve wanted the v3xx but everybody seems to have razrs already. hoping to join the samsung family. goodbye nokia and sony ericsson! =p
