> In reply to Raju @ 2008-04-07 12:16 from w4gR - click to readyes there is a FCP ribbon which connects the slide with the main board.Which use to cut due to much usage of slide. This handset is made in such a way that u can see at the back side of the slide it does not get scratched even the slide is used for many times. But in other slide handsets it get scratched. This technique is responsible for the cutting of FCP ribbon.Because beauty is the matter,if your ribbon cuts then u can change it but if your phone get scratched then how could u rectify it.

If you want to get java on ur phone u have to have both files of the game or app (.jaf and .jad) but if u only have the jar there are plenty of jad makers on the web. I personally hate that Samsung needs the jad file which is basically a file pointing to the jar. Well let's get on with it. If you have a USB cable transfer your apps and games (or u can simply use b-tooth) punch in *#9998*JAVAINSTALL# you then get "Activated" now you have to locate you jad files(same directory as jars) and simply launch them. The game/app will then be placed in the java world section. Will get back at u with the unlocking codes.

I have been using my d840 for almost 2 years now and its been doin fine. The model tho considered old for this fast changing celphone technology, is still considered in. Its sleek design (i got the silver) is classy and user friendly. But i had its flex wire replaced after a year of use, (common to slide and flip design)and probably thats the cause of why your monitor goes blank. Replace the flex and it will be fine.

> In reply to Amra @ 2009-01-02 02:57 from 474r - click to readHi, just mentioned earlier that mine is 2 years old and been using same battery since. With regards to its power, it depends merely on your usage and so far its been doin as what the manufacturer specified of its usage/standby time. My trick is once in a while i had its power totally drained before charging it full. Actualy thats an old trick. Thats one way of prolonging the life of the battery. Happy New Year to evryone.

I purchased this phone back in june of 07 and i really cannot complain about it. reading all your comments on here i need to be glad that i have not had any with mine. i probably just jinxed myself!!
everyone seems to be complaining about the battery here. how often do you use this phone in a day? maybe you ought to cut down on some of that usage?...just a suggestion. i usually have the charger right by my bed, so every morning while getting ready for work i charge it for up to an hour. so i always have full three bars.

can someone also put up some nice tricks this phone has? like someone below me had about checking the battery life. that would be cool.

thanks in advance to whoever responds to this :)

I've owned this phone for one year now and i'm pretty satisfied with it. Try one of the folowing *#9998*HELP# in standby mode and u will see lots of tweaks. Try *#0228# for batt info and if u want java on your mobile put both jad and jar files on your phone in other files folder type *#9998*JAVAINSTALL# in standby mode then go to other files and you should be able to install java (using jad file).
