I noticed that american users have problems with this phone. The booklet says that only the primary sim is tripleband (900/1800/1900) the secondary sim is only 900/1800. Maybe that can explain why american users have problems with this phone.

I noticed that the sound quality of the slave sim is MUCH worse than the primary sim.
I was able to improve the sound quality a little by using that *#0206*8378# code, but most of the other sound configurations options were very confusing.
If anyone know what they mean, please post us a little guide here.
THKS!!!!

Me too. I have just bought the D880. I have been with Nokia forever and am finding this phone a bit quirky. Most annoying aspect so far is not being able to sync my phone and Pc like you I am getting only names and no numbers. By the way how do I move numbers between the sims and the phone directory ? Or can this only be done on the PC !!!

i had this phone for about a month now and decided to put a 2nd simcard. I lived in the philippines which i used two different networks Smart and Globe. It works just perfectly. Both sims received calls and messages. And of course whichever your primary sim, is the one you can use to call and send Email/MMS/SMS. This phone is great!!!

Hello All,
I'd received my Samsung D880 today. I have 2 sims one with AT&T in US and the other from Mobinil in Egypt which is active on roaming via T-Mobile. I'm currently in the US. Any sim of them that I choose as primary the other sim is Always at "No Service" and vice versa. Did anyone faced this before? Is there a solution to make the phone sees the 2 networks at the same time?
I tried to switch the position of the sims inside the phone but still the same symptoms.
I read many replies that people are having the 2 networks working at the same time and they can receive calls on both lines. I'd appreciate any help on that matter.
Thanks

hello,
i am interested in this phone (in america) but when i contacted plemix.com, they said despite it being triband that their field test of this phone shows it does NOT work in america. so i contacted cti-miami.com and they said it works but both sims DO NOT work simultaneously, which is contrary to almost everything i read about this phone. can someone be nice and tell me the truth, someone who actually owns this phone and uses it here in america? thanks all.

New comment on sending SMS over the D880 from a PalmTX via bluetooth.
Both devices paired and security activated on the D880 (Bluetooth menu).
I write an SMS on the Palm TX using the SMS program provided with the Palm.
When writing an SMS on the Palm you should first give the number that the SMS should go to. If you give the number of the primary SIM card, the phone will act as if it received an SMS on that number - from that same number! The SMs alert signal will sound.
You can also send SMS messages to foreign phone numbers. I wrote and SMSto my swedish SIM2 card. It was sent by the SIM1 card (primary) and received by card2.
The Palm TX allow me to write long SMS messages and also use nordic umlauts such as åäö and ü.
However, you can write an SMS to any mobiloe phone number. It will be forwarded by the phone but it won't appear in the sent messages log of the phone. The only visible clue is a quick change of colour on the BT symbol on the DuoScreen changing into orange, for about one second.
