Hi Marius,
That is correct. I have a d880 without the duos logo on top. I do NOT. I repeat I DO NOT have to RESTART to call from my second sim. My primairy sim is a prepaid and my second is my postpaid sim. So i text with my prepaid and call with my Postpaid. I select a number from my phonebook. Then i push the button on the left of the phone. And i can call from my slave/second sim. WITHOUT restarting. The battery has to be charged every 72 hours if you leave it on at 24/7

Hi, Im fr Singapore and is moving to USA soon. Thought this phone looks good annd useful for people like me.. Can this phone function with 2 SIM cards of different country and network? I mean can I use Singapore Sim card and USA SIM card in this phone? Anyway anyone can advise what is the network and band using in USA? Thanks!

Come on guys! Don't you think that Samsung would have announced the different improved unit if they really had one?!
They only have one model: It's the Samsung D880 that unfortunately doesn't deserve the Samsung logo!

Marcello, so u tell us that your d880 daoes not have duos logo, and you don't have to restart to make a coll from the second sim...tell us what is the procedure on youre model...and if you are already useing it can u tell us how does the battery comports, how long lasts the battery....???

Not so good design but one step forward on Duos sims. If you follow the F490 or GioGio Armani design, you will see a big success.
Make it happen Samsung.

Posting again. According to Samsung Singapore the second SIM is Dual-Band. They don't mention which 2 bands, however. If those are 900/1800 then the phone can not *receive* calls in USA or Canada on the second sim. Can somebody from USA or Canada share their experience about using the phone here. I need a dual sim phone but it is too expensive to purchase blindly.

Hello,
As you can see I'm from the Netherlands. I received the phone today. I'v read all the posts. I think there are different types of D880 on the market. For instance. The one I bought was a UK import. Without de duos logo on top. But i CAN(READ) switch easely between simcards. WITHOUT a reboot/restart. I dont have the russian letters on my keyboard.
So buyers please be awere of the different types. I believe some buyers dissapointed because you have to restart the phone if you want to switch between simcards. The one i have does not have this problem.

Hello
I've bought this phone and i'm happy with this the only problem I have is that the phone reboot after 15mm connected to bluetooth handfree in my car....
Is there a new firmware to correct this bug?

I tried it yesterday and heres how I see it. Both the sims are active and can receive calls and text message. If your using the primary sim and someone is calling you from the secondary sim, the caller gets a busy tone. I don't recall the phone showing a notice that someone was calling the second sim. I think the only concern is that it needs to restart when changing from primary to secondary. I'm still thinking if I should get it..hhmmmmm....

if you need a cellphone with Dual Active SIM, you should try the Versio brand Duplii or Twinn model phone. Look for My phone Duo as well.

you can only use 1 SIM for outgoing call/text on this phone though both SIMs can received call/text at the same time.

I believe that you can receive both call and SMS on Both SIMS, right?
But you can call ONLY and reply ONLY to SMS using the primary SIM unless you switched the PRIMARY SIM, right?

What happens when you choose to make a call from the 2nd SIM using the button you referred to? Doesn’t your phone restart?!
(are you another Samsung Salesman who is trying to push this product?)

I have the D880, great phone if you have two gsm sim cards. And you don't need to turn it off to switch sims. You can make a call from any sim by just switching from on sim to another using a button on the side. You can also receive calls from sim 2 if you are on sim 1, just by putting the person on sim1 on hold to andswer sim2. It's actually very simple.

I just came from a Samsung reseller. Both SIMs are dual stand-by. You can make calls only from the SIM that has been set as Primary. They told me that you have to reboot your phone by pressing the change sim button if you want to make a call from SIM2.
