hello,
i am interested in this phone (in america) but when i contacted plemix.com, they said despite it being triband that their field test of this phone shows it does NOT work in america. so i contacted cti-miami.com and they said it works but both sims DO NOT work simultaneously, which is contrary to almost everything i read about this phone. can someone be nice and tell me the truth, someone who actually owns this phone and uses it here in america? thanks all.

New comment on sending SMS over the D880 from a PalmTX via bluetooth.

Both devices paired and security activated on the D880 (Bluetooth menu).

I write an SMS on the Palm TX using the SMS program provided with the Palm.

When writing an SMS on the Palm you should first give the number that the SMS should go to. If you give the number of the primary SIM card, the phone will act as if it received an SMS on that number - from that same number! The SMs alert signal will sound.

You can also send SMS messages to foreign phone numbers. I wrote and SMSto my swedish SIM2 card. It was sent by the SIM1 card (primary) and received by card2.

The Palm TX allow me to write long SMS messages and also use nordic umlauts such as åäö and ü.

However, you can write an SMS to any mobiloe phone number. It will be forwarded by the phone but it won't appear in the sent messages log of the phone. The only visible clue is a quick change of colour on the BT symbol on the DuoScreen changing into orange, for about one second.

Samsung D880 does Synchronize with Outlook. Try using SAMSUNG PC STUDIO 3.

not sure if anyone in the UK on the 02 network is experiencing the same mms problems but i found some interesting posts on the xda devleopers websites about problems with the UK 02 network and phones that arent recoginised. apparently if a non supported phone is used the network will send the lowest resolution picture to ensure it reaches the recipient.
the guys on the xda developers webiste were able to resolve this by changing their windows phone registry to fool the network into thinking it was a supported phone.

i wouldnt even know where to start or know if there are sites out there where people would be developing this sort of code for non windows phones.

does anyone know how to change the phone registry or is there anyone on here that has used the D880 on the O2 network in the UK?

Hi i live in the UK and i have two sims from O2 in the phone and it works great but i have a problem with the mms settings and picture messaging! The problem is when i recieve a picture message it is recieved about one quarter of the size from the sender. for example if a 24KB pisture is sent to the D880 it appears as a very small picture about 4KB in size. a 4KB pic is next to uesless!if i remove the mms setting it actually knows there is 24KB picture incoming but obviously cannot retrieve it because the setting isnt there. i have obtained the mms settings from samsung and they look correct and also match the settings in my SE W810i and others posted on the web.i have also tried the various message classes in the mms settings but no joy.i am begining to think its a setting in the phone i have overlooked or there is a problem with the phone. has any one seen a similiar problem with this phone before or know how to resolve this?
Cheers

Just got the phone today, I thought everything would be perfect but my only rant about this phone is that you can't assign a different alert tone for your SMS.
BTW can anyone help me with assigning different ring tones for the two sims?

Thanks!

This hone is BAD!
I've got dual SIM phone from unknown Asian company, and it's GREAT: TV, 1800MaH battery (lasts for over a week!!!) and much more...for half price of this phone...I really dislike Samsung...specially this model
