I would love to buy this amazing handset. Its great to have 2 USIM's work at the same time. PLUS it has a touch-screen functionality. It looks elegant too. I am going to gift it to my boss as a new year gift.

Isn't this the same thing as the Samsung F480 aka Samsung T919 BEHOLD (from t-mobile)?

Samsung SGH D780 is better than D880. Samsung Dual card phones are the only serios phones in market...

At least, one of those two networks should be a quadband (to accomodate someone who travel to US-850MHz) and the other one has 3G-video call camera to accomodate our daily European/asian needs.

> In reply to BN @ 2008-12-01 14:16 from S9Mk - click to readWell, since you have to remove the battery to change sim cards, switching sims *without* restarting would be somewhat difficult.

Don't get confused with the old style dual-sim adapters, that needed you to restart your phone to flip between one sim OR the other. The Samsung is truly a dual-sim phone where both cards work simultaneously. The only time you need to restart is if you need to change sims (i.e. you have more than two)... (I have a D880, thinking of buying the 980 but very disappointed they haven't yet added 3g on at least one of the sim slots)

> In reply to MikeB @ 2008-11-27 10:24 from MkXq - click to readThe manual does not say anything about the phone having to restart after switching SIM cards (as it says clearly in the D880 manual).

> In reply to Anonymous @ from HHHH - click to readI haven't seen the phone in the UK yet. It is available in Switzerland though, the price is GBP 254. So, I guess prices will be around GBP 300-350 once it's available.

I'll get one in Switzerland over the weekend ;-)
