You can turn off keypad tones, and you can also turn off the sound that the phone makes each time you open and close it. The keys aren't very sensitive, you do have to press them to make them do anything, only gently but they're not going to do anything if you breathe on them! ;)

Hi, I'm thinking of getting this phone and need to know two things: Does it (like so many other Samsungs) have the irritating tendency of sounding a tone every time you do anything, even if you switch the keypad sounds off? Also, are its buttons over-sensitive like those on the E900? (I have quite a light touch but I found the E900's buttons react even if you breathe too close to them!) Thanks

I got this phone last summer and i love it. It's the same length as the Apple iPOD nano. And yes, you could attach a phoone cord. It comes with a Samsung cord, but u can easily take it off and put ur own.

Yep the phone does only have options for ring, vibrate only, or vibrate THEN ring. It's not as bad as you think though, it vibrates for a few seconds and then rings. I've set my phone to ring for 30 seconds before it goes to voicemail, it's always long enough for me to be able to answer it before it goes to voicemail. The vibration is quite strong too so i can always feel it if the phone's in my pocket or bag.

Turns out the E878 is a crappier Chinese firmware version of the E870 so basically you get no voice recon with it. So would anyone know where I can get the E870 firmware to overwrite the E878 one.

I recently bought the E870 but it was shipped from Hong Kong so I have the E878 version. I have two questions for this phone: How can I change the regional settings because when I open my phone it says China and I want it to say Canada because I think its messing with my voice dialing. If the regional setting has nothing to do with voice dialing(I thought it might had something to do with it because of the languages the voice dialing recognizes) For some reason when I follow the manuals instructions, I go into Menu and Applications I don't have the Voice Dialing menu option that the manual says should be there. Would anyone know why?
