@james -> i want to get rid off the memory card icon as well. if anybody find a way, let us know.
@billy -> check here for the definition of GPRS: http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/gprs.htm
my main problem with this phone is the battery. it stays charged for only 36 hours. Is there a bigger battery out in the market??

u can get rid of the echo if you lower the volume of the speaker while on call (by pressing d left side key)...set it 3 or 4...

In addition to my previous post you can deactivate and deactivate the GPRS by typing on the num pad:
#*7287# - GPRS Attached
#*7288# - GPRS Detached

for those who want to remove the "G" (GPRS). On the dial pad write *#4777*8665# . The GPRS "secret" menu will appear. Select "2.GPRS Detach" and the G will go away. Notice that while entering the code, after the second * the numbers will appear as -

Well..first saw the phone 2 days ago..and liked it very much. Especially on the touch screen panel. Well...Like it most because of the big display.
However, this is what i found after having some hands on the phone.
So far, there's no echo problem. But i am facing is that there is no id display on the message that i received. Though some yeah..it came together with the id display. But some not.
So far...has anyone encounter this issue?

Battey life can be expanded by completely using up battery until phone turns off automatically. Then charge the battery for around 8 hours even though green light is lighted up. Do this a few times, and battery will become normal. Battery is like this because its been in storage and because it's being used for the first time...
As for the memory card limit, Samsung says that upto 512MB is supported. But their are reports of people succesfully using 2GB cards. I don't know whether the E890 will capable. Basically depends on the phone's firmware.

to that guy who doesnt know how to press a number when on a call : when u have called d other party, go to options then press dialer (option 3) then the keypad will appear..
hey guys, the echo thing will be gone if you dont use the voice clarity & dont use the maximum volume level..
this is a cool phone..if i will summarize this, here it goes :
PROS :
large, vivid screen (size like N73's screen)
head turning, expensive-looking design
limited edition (not many ppol have this phone)
touch screen very responsive
CONS :
low ringtone volume
no mp3 alert tones
the camera is below average but the video recording is excellent..
battery?1-2 days on average use..
if u hav questions : reach through yahoo msngr : ID - jeyytm
