Pls I have an Android version 4.0.4 running presently on my Gio, I would like to know if there's a way I can dowgrade to a lower version say 2.3 Thank you very much.

Wtf guys you're worried about the battery?
If you don't know to read it can use a 32 GB SD card.So shut up!!
I bought a Galaxy Gio and i don't have any problem.

Then everything should be working fine again. If not contact Samsung for this issue.

I have been using since 2yrs. V nice phone.
Draw backs are the internal mem.
My battry last 1 yr.
The battery time is 15-20 hrs on full charge.

I just purchased a gio. My phone doesn't supports sms means it doesn't send sms. whenever i try to send a sms, it appears as invalid sender. to improve it, i loaded go sms software but still sms cannot be sent. pse let me know what to do?

I've had this phone for nearly two years now, and I really want another one. The galaxy Gio is very easy to handle but it has a few major setbacks:
- as several people pointed out, it randomly switches off. It started doing that after about 3 months.
- battery life decreases dramatically when using the internet, even when you close all background programs
- internal storage is ridiculously insufficient: I have 11 downloaded apps on my phone, 4 of those are games and I have to remove data regularly as the internal memory is full already. I have a 2 GB micro sd card, of which I only use 42% because all app-data is stored on internal phone memory.
- After about a year of use, my ohone has started to freeze frequently, sometimes several times a day. It also spazzes out when I use the internet quite regularly: the screen flickers between the internet interface and the dropdown menu where you pick recently browsed addresses.


Other than ease of handling, weight and size, the only positive I can think of, is that the internet is quite fast - when it doens't spazz out - although that might just be my provider.

yeah i agree the phone is awesome i love it and i enjoy it very much but as my phone mates said then battery isn't that awesome

I really like this phone a lot , but the reason is the battery that doesn't last long

I agree with the battery swelling, mine started to grow after ~1 year of use, had to buy a new one.
