Unfortunately, most people these days are into immediate gratification. The desire to have the latest and greatest will definitely win out over a consolidated effort to push the manufacturer to develop phone that is in line with the needs of loyal Samsung customers. Unfortunately, we will succomb to the wims of a company that we have propelled into the "MEGA" company range.
I have been a loyal Samsung customer since I had to give up my Treo :-) I did not go Apple or Blackberry despite the fact that they have used more premium build materials. I held out knowing that Samsung would one day get the message and start building a premium device which would match the premium features that I have come to love. Who knew that I would have to sacrifice 2 of the most important features, removable battery and storage, just to get a premium look.
Please tell me, why loyal Samsung customers could not have both? Please tell me why Samsung had to cower to Apple and create the Android iPhone? I as certain that in a few years Apple would be forced to do a complete redesign to gain back it's customer base lost to Samsung. I say we make them give us what we want, I say we don't sacrifice, I say we don't support this new design and I say that we as consumers exercise our voice and our financial power to force manufactures to provide us with a quality device, with the features we want without any short cuts. Let's face it, the device is a tad overpriced, we should have been graced with premium materials such as metal and gorilla glass @ the Note2 and the S4. Here we are @ the Note5 and all I can say is "What the heck Samsung!?"
I passed on upgrading to the Note4, the only one I haven't owned. I predict an increase in sales and demand for the Note4 until Samsung goes back to the drawing board and releases a Note5S, which will be redesigned to include removable storage and a larger capacity removable battery. And while they are at it, please add the built in loop to connect a lanyard or wristlet. I love a large phone, and I am not a fan of bulky cases, so Samsung lets go back to the simple things that don't require to much in the way of a design change.
Again, I am a huge fan of Samsung, not so much of a "MEGA" company that despite their huge success and profits imposes short cuts and copy cat devices on their loyal customers.
If Samsung are trying to loose customers they're doing a great job the things I love about my note are the things they're no removable battery no simcard slot what I guess I'll give LG a shot.I love my note 4 thought the 5 would be a seamless transition but seems I'm wrong go figure
i enjoyed my galaxy note 4 and i still prefer removable battery and an SD card on it. Without it, i dont think i would upgrade to note 5. It has low battery life, wouldnt last a day for me and no sd card for additional sotrage. Marketing manager of this product should resign, he doesnt know what people wants, they tend to copy apple again.Premuim style.
wow i guess i wont be upgrading to note 5 then :(no memory card slot and no removable battery which is a huge selling point for me. dam greedy capitalism.
The removable battery won't cause a problem at all and the SD Card situation won't be a problem either because android phones have the Google photos app where you sync your pictures to the cloud and you have unlimited storage, the memory of the phone will be used for files and apps, so make sure you don't download apps that take a lot of memory like Facebook, Instagram, Walmart, Target or other apps.

Before you run out and buy the Note 5, check out the specs on the upcoming LG G4 Pro. The G4 has everything power users want in a phone plus extras! I can't think of one single reason to buy the Note 5 over the G4. It has a better camera, same ROM/Internal storage, 27/8MP camera and an SD card slot capable of 2TB.

If I paid the same price for the phone look like iphone. I should get a iphone instead. They should know why the people switch from iphone to android, because of the removable battery and extendable sd card. I think LG and APPLE should thanks the new samsung galaxy s6 and note 5 designer.
Android user looking for freedom with s6 and now note 5 user r limited no sd card no removeable battery shorter battery life mean No Android, samsung coping iphone so why not we r shifted on iphone,i bet with these kind of smartphone samsung will struggle to achieve their dreams, iphone and even Nokia will dominant in future,
jond11, 12 Aug 2015Didn't Samsung already introduce this phone ( galaxy S6 )? Oh I'm sorry this is ground break... moreHopefully your question is not rhetorical. Personally for me, I'm fine with the non-removable battery and the no SD card thing. I'm anxiously waiting for the new S Pen features for this new Note. And I don't hate other brand too. For me, the Galaxy Note series was made for it's S Pen functionality and features.
There was Micro SD or Sim card Slot below Volume button . My opinion was they maintain Note 5 Specs upto launching date

And that was when I swore I'd only use phones with removable memory since no matter what happens to the phone you just pull the card and everything's fine.
The battery is under the NFC, they would need to re engineer quite a bit. This is not possible since production probably started a few months ago.

Richard Yarrell, 12 Aug 2015Show how much you know. The Exynos 7420 14nm processor is the best on the market period. If I ... moreyou forgot one thing and that is that it has a bigger screen and so increasing the battery is a necessity but you forgot that it's quad HD and the processor will be the same Exynos 7420 and not the 7422. So in no way will the galaxy note 5 have better battery life. I can see it being better than the note 3 by just a margin but the Note 4? I'm not sure
