I finally got the lollipop update on the Note 3 (which was a nightmare to install - so much frustrations). After the update was done though, battery life improved significantly (haven't used it long enough to determine SOT, but each percent warrants a longer usage time though compared to KK, for example; it drained 10% in 1 hour and 30 minutes while on social media, which I find to be really good in fact), device feels faster and it looks a lot better also. If you get this update, then do it now! There's really no point staying on KK if the update is available.
Abhi D, 25 Jun 2015Since you are using Lollipop in your Note 3, i want to know how much SOT you get and how much ... moreNo app crashes , No bugs , Heating only when updating 10-12 apps at a time. It does not have a fan like PC, lap top. Difficult to quantify "screen on Time" but i have kept on power saver mode. Magnificent gestures are off and screen time out is 2 min. Absolutely no problems so far with phone.

They must service a genuine samsung model. Of course he has to bear the cost bcoz his screen cracked bcoz of accident which is not covered in warranty.
ithehappy, 25 Jun 2015I have gone back to KitKat (4.4.2 I think) multiple times when the first batch of Lollipop ROM... moreGoing back to Kitkat is more complicated on Exynos variant!
There is an issue of IMEI going null/erased and one has to flash the modem of lollipop to get the phone working and get back IMEI
There is no such issue in Snapdragon version though
ithehappy, 25 Jun 2015If you stay on Stock kernel then you will get 6 hours of SOT at average. I have got 7 hours SO... moreOn my S4 i have quite opposite experience! Ever since lollipop update, battery is very poor. I have done factory reset and cache partition wipes, but that doesn't help at all.
And also my apps keep crashing, app drawer slows down, phone slows down, ram usage has surged, wallpaper changes automatically to stock.

Medoooz, 25 Jun 2015I dont like this lolli shit on my Note 3 .. kitkat was great Kikat is good:-) glad i dont have LP in in my phone. Too many problems with it. You can downgrade it to kitkat. ITs ok if you buy a phone that comes with lolliop.
ithehappy, 25 Jun 2015LOL! Lollipop's battery is 25-30% better than KitKat! And that's FACT.Thats a FACT lol!

If not then service centre will charge you for to get it fixed. NO matter how much you go on at them they wil not fix it. That happened to my sons s4. I had to buy him new phone which was s5. Like i said if you have no warranty they wil charge you to fix it.
Anonymous, 24 Jun 2015Hey there ,
i'm from Egypt too and i didnt get the lolipop update
u updated normally from ... moreA lot of countries have not got the LP update officially, it's not possible for Samsung (I am supposing here!) to release official updates for each and every region.
In any case, you can grab the latest firmware from sammobile.com and flash it on your phone. As far as I know, OEA is the latest version.
I am talking about Snapdragon models. For Exynos, the firmware version numbers are different.
a.salem, 24 Jun 2015only palm swip is working
i'm searching the screen shot button but not foundThree methods work to take a screenshot in Lollipop:
A- Power and Home button combo.
B- Palm swipe (which works half of the time with me, on S2 it worked every single time), and
C- S Pen method, from Air Command menu. The S Pen press and hold button method is nowhere to be found on LP, it's gone, officially.

If you are using data, be it 3G or 4G or whatever then 4 hours of Screen on Time is "normal". But if your phone is in standby mode for 3-4 hours and battery is draining completely from 100 to 0, then there is something severely wrong with the phone.

They are bound to service any Samsung device as long as they are original! The only difference will be you will be needing to pay as you don't have an invoice and I am sure yours is Snapdragon model, so in India warranty won't be applicable.
Talk harshly, they will take your phone and service it.
For culprits SC like this the whole image of a brand goes haywire. Really sad :( Literate persons should be recruited in service centres.
Abhi D, 25 Jun 2015Since you are using Lollipop in your Note 3, i want to know how much SOT you get and how much ... moreIf you stay on Stock kernel then you will get 6 hours of SOT at average. I have got 7 hours SOT so many times on LP that I have forgotten and 2 or 3 times I hit even 8 hours!
Yes, my phone is just 6-7 months old, so the battery is not really weak or anything, but I am person who fast charges the device and on some days I charged my device up to three times a day (don't ask why and all that). :p

Nikhil Kawatra, 24 Jun 2015It is working on my note 3. All three methods of screen shots.I think you are misunderstanding. We were talking about the feature where you would just press and hold the S Pen button on the display and it would take a screenshot. That feature, for whatever reason, is removed from Lollipop. Of course, now you can take a screenshot with S Pen from the Air Command option, but that's not what we were saying.
