I realize that tablets are a hassle for me. I try not to carry a bag as much as possible. That's why my Note 8 ended up for home use, or only bringing when I have a commissioned project. The S Pen is very important to me.
I'm waiting for Microsoft to come out with an 8" Surface Pro running full Windows with a Wacom digitizer to replace my Note 8.

When you wake up in the morning and you try to look at the time from a Z1's screen, your eyes would hurt from the brightness. AMOLED screen have a better job at very dimmed screen because it doesn't use ambient lighting like LCD based where the side lights are on all the time. Each AMOLED pixel is self illuminated, which means blacks are pixels not emitting light at all.
I use the Screen Filter app to even lower song to lies than 10 nits for reading in the dark. And on the other hand, it provides good visibility during day time. I love the clear vibrant colors. Sony has to have a saturating engine with a fancy name to get vibrant colors which take up more power. That's why I stick to AMOLED screens. Samsung had finally implemented this lowered filtered AMOLED screen function officially with the Galaxy S5.
No, we do not believe you were a former Galaxy user. If you want to be a troll here marketing the Z2, be the best one there is. So far, no one is impressed with your false experiences against the Note 3.
got my note 3 yesterday. u cant browse net if u put a flip case. wht a joke !!!

Custo... moreI have about a dozen or so co-workers who sport an iPhone. They love their aluminum bodied device... which they wrap with casings made of plastic, silicon, leatherette and screen protectors that are terribly been worn out with corners sticking out. When they see me doing something like remote controlling the projector, and then mirroring my screen onto the the screen wireless, they'd ask how they could do that with their iPhones.
IPhone on LTE only lasts just above 3 hours continuously, according to them. They need to constantly recharge every time they'd see an outlet. They think that's normal.
A 4" screen was like the bomb 3 years ago. Its darn too little for me to watch something on it. Everyone has their personal screen preference, and I can understand that. I like big screens but if it doesn't fit my pockets, I'm not inclined to bringing it along as my daily device. And the Note 3 does fit.
You can turn off the hover finger preview. I find it useful for going through emails fast on the Note.
Taking down notes fast with the built-in S Note app using the S Pen is a whole lot faster and dynamic with diagrams or quick sketches. I usually use blank, unlined pages. You can cross out, erase fast, switch to different pens or brushes. Thoughts are free flowing, unobstructed, and you can jump to a blank space to indicate something. It's built for the individual's creative process. It's different if you're just typing words like I'm doing now.
Word processing apps like Polaris is not the greatest when it comes to zooming in. What it shows is the format for a normal PC screen. That's understandable because that's how it's going to come out to be printed. But I do appreciate the excel function of Polaris as I edit spreadsheets daily on the go. It even accommodates split scrolling for big tables. Extremely useful enough than carrying bigger devices to do the same thing.
A Tab 2 isn't something I'd advice using fur productivity as its battery is so limited. I'd advice an Apple first generation iPad mini for its 10 hours of accumulated screen time usage on one charge. I personally have a Galaxy Note 8 that last only half of the time compared to the iPad mini.
You can back up with Samsung Kies.
