Having always loved phones, for many many years... This really is the first time I have looked at a Samsung device in awe of its beauty. WoW!
T-Mobile's CEO expressing his opinion about it :
Anonymous, 06 Mar 2015not water proof! its uselessUseless without water proofing.
Hmm, my TV, bluray player, amplifier, laptop and well everyother piece of electrical kit I own isn't Ingress Protection rated.
None of them a are useless.
When I bought a Sony TX5 camera years ago, I liked that I could film my daughter swimming to me in the pool the first time she 'left the wall'.
I desired the first sony phone that offered that level of IP rating, being on the net whilst in the bath, yay!
Just because we have started to have products that have this feature, doesn't make products without it 'useless'.
It seems like the haters' just gotta hate.
As each respective 'issue' is talked about on this thread in a real and meaningful way, new issues become the target.
I am guessing next it will be the glass back!
We don't know to what extent the design of this phone has been built for.
I believe for much of the design phase Samsung worked towards keeping Ingress Protection.
For all we know, it got a low rating and they just decided to drop the feature rather than get laughed at on forums because company X does it better.
One big issue with water 'proofed' phones/ any devices with touch screens; is the screen can only handle so much pressure before going 'spack'!
My Samsung Fit goes beserk in the shower as each drop that runs across the screen tells it to do something new.
For all we know the screen, being optimised for sensitivity (Nokias 920 added glove support a few years ago to its touch screen capability, other manufacturers had to follow suit), means these sensitive screens don't like rain running over them, and rather than risk having peoples files delete, ex-partners get gibberish messages etc.. they just don't advertise it as a feature.
until we hear complaints from light rain ruining these phones, I wouldn't worry.
Its not an advertised feature,.. but it hardly has its battery on the outside now does it!
If a 'tough phone' is a persons need; there will be IP rated models by Samsung. Or other manufacturers.
It does appear the S6 is aimed at competing against other flagships, and the features that most users actively want and need might not be ingress protection!
Your mileage may vary,. the marketplace is a cornucopia of delights!
MoboLover, 06 Mar 2015Nice choice u too bro.. One more thing is that Exynos version comes up with a new wolfson D... moreTry on the Amazon US site. You can contact thw third party seller and ask them if they can reserve the one you want. Hope that works for you. Wish you enjoy your S6 Edge.

One more thing is that Exynos version comes up with a new wolfson DAC and so would be ideal for music lovers..
About me, i usually download more flac files or mp3 with 320 kbps and so it takes more space and so i prefer minium 32 gb version. But just to be safe, i wanted to go to 64 gb if the price is right.
I live in India and i am not sure if i can preorder this s6 edge now. Please let me know if you find any site to preorder. Thanks.
MoboLover, 06 Mar 2015Well, if water proof/dust proof is not your priority, then you can go ahead with this model. I... moreI am also thinking about buying S6 Edge green colored once relased. I think 32GB will be enough to do everything needed;people often upload bigger files on cloud.
I usually download some apps necessary for my life. I need Skype for calling, Candy Crush for killing boring time when I am free, and so on. People often deleted the unwanted apps when they are no longer in use.
Actually 16GB should be fairly enough to enjoy what a high end smartphone has to offer.
I don't save the photos I take to my phone; rather, I posted them on Facebook so I can delete them in my device.
One thing I really love about S6 is that "you only need to charge it for 10 minutes then you can use it the whole day while out.
I think you need to preorder should you plan to buy green. If you are going after white lik some of my friends, preordering isn't necessary.
m86k, 06 Mar 2015I agree.. if you intend to shower with it every day.lol

MK.8834, 06 Mar 2015Hey Plz sasesson me i want buy S6 edge 128GB Green CoLour, But no Water & Dust Proof Buy ... moreWell, if water proof/dust proof is not your priority, then you can go ahead with this model. I am also waiting for the launch of S6 edge green color. Personally i prefer 64Gb version as this size is a sweet spot like not so low and as well enough for media files. Pricing seems to be an another factor which makes me think twice. I just hope that samsung will reduce the pricing of these models. Good Luck!
Hey Plz sasesson me i want buy S6 edge 128GB Green CoLour, But no Water & Dust Proof Buy This Phone Yes or No...Plz..
the green is a real beauty. wish they thought of that with the note 4 :(
You got a point. But don't start me on TV's : you are remembering me that i sold my old Panasonic plasma to get a 4K Led which i don't really like when displaying dark scenes... (damn oled 4K still not available here). Oled screens rock.
I'm more towards the green emerald since a friend told me he wanted to purchase the gold one. I don't like having my close friends having same stuff as me :)
The other day, I was dreaming about a seamless black color for S6 Edge where you couldn't differentiate bezel from screen off/black screen, or hardly at least.. That would be a killer.
m86k, 06 Mar 2015You were not crazy, Samsung had a good idea with S6s colors schemes :)
I didn't even think ... moreHave no fear about the screen being able to match the fascia!
The screen is one of the most colour accurate screens on the planet. And with the crazy high pixels per inch, I am sure it will go bright enough in any condition to make the screen appear 'solid'.
I am confident that a nice shade/tone of green will be findable if you want the phone to appear seamless, screen to edge..
Myself, with OLED screens, I would always choose to go the darkest bezel available, because as a media player, a dark edge does not detract from the media content.
And, even though the large plasma TV in my house was researched for many moons, and selected for its ability to render colour correctly, even my daughter states how much better the Note Edge is in terms of colour when watching the same things.
(Yes I calibrate A/V equipment professionally, so the TV is just about as good as it gets!)
So whilst I would go dark bezel, everyone can just relax.. the screen will render some pretty perfect colour.
metalic surfaces that change colour, might be hard to match though!
Jimmy, 05 Mar 2015I thought it was just me who thought the gold had a bit of silver-ness in certain lightening :... moreYou were not crazy, Samsung had a good idea with S6s colors schemes :)
I didn't even think about my wallpapers, well still 1 month to go sadly
Hearmeout, 05 Mar 2015Ok, I'am an apple user and i just preordered a S6 Edge 64 Gig.
I have nothing to complain ... moreLucky you, my favorite stores don't propose S6 Edge yet. Despite i don't have the money for now, i keep checking daily for it :D
You totally sum up what i was saying in S6 page, i think this was Samsung's goal while designing S6/S6 Edge and making them premium : seducing Apple owners. Because competition is getting to tight on "normal" flagships level.
For your Apple, you could keep it as a secondary phone for another sim.. or as a spare phone, just in case.
Jimmy, 05 Mar 2015Guys which one are you getting? I'm planning on getting the edge but I can't decide between... morego green jimmy,,, try to step out of your comfort zone, i pre ordered green emerald,,, cant wait!!!
