Hopefully it's not 9,9 mm thick. That would make it a brick and I'm not sure I want to buy that. The benchmark for Samsung's small phones is the Galaxy S2, which was 8,5 mm in 2011. The benchmark for the industry is the iPhone SE, which is 7,6.
Another very important matter is weight: Galaxy S2 116 g, iPhone Se 113 g. The S7 mini should aim at being below 120 g too. What would be the point of making a small screen phone if it's thick and heavy? iPhone 4s in 2011 again?
There should be Samsung Galaxy mini s7 edge with 5" almoled screen and super compact.

Samsung S7 is already small for me. Why would I want something even more smaller and thicker and more difficult to read. I would consider it if was something new like a cylindrical shaped phone (like a pen!) with a pop out flexible screen that rolls back inside just like a party blower. That would be unique and fresh; would definitely overshadow the Apple SE
Looks great for me. But only one exeption dual sim and extra slot for micro sd. As example A serie of Samsung has seperate slots for two sims and extra micro sd. But new s7 and s7 edge has combined slot.

Dave, 19 Mar 2016Looks perfect, except... 9.9 mm thickness is a deal breaker.Yes, that's the first thing I noticed. Deal breaker for me too. I wonder what the weight will be? They almost had it right with the Alpha, super slim and light. But this model looks like a brick. Too bad because the other specs look great.
I want to buy this phone but, there is no IR port.
i think i must forget this phone.

Also, i don,t think outside button creates and problem in one hand use...it's just my opinon
SpecDude, 18 Mar 2016do you want to see your favorite company get rekt? How would those specs wreck the device?
What's the use when the home button is outside. It has to be within the screen to enable one hand usage. For me a 4.5 inch screen with the home button within the screen would be best..
If the specs are true then samsung is the first manage to squeeze in the 1080p res display into a 4.6inch frame. The 4.7inch a3 2016 is pretty enough as a mini phone, just make it same specs as the a5 2016 then I will buy.
