My device says my battery is at 89% capacity. However I feel like my battery is starting to die on me, every day a bit more. Past fall i went on a city trip and needed my phone for navigation, looking things up etc. The phone didn't even make it till noon. At that point it was barely 2 years old. So for me its time to get e new phone before my next trip.

hey can someone tell me how your galaxy s8 battery does well up to this day and how long is the SOT (screen on time) and background
Remember the old saying, “Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me”? Well for sure it’s shame on me. I had a Samsung S7 phone and it developed the dreaded SWOLLEN battery. I wasn’t aware of that when I purchased it but after experiencing the problem a little internet research disclosed that this was a huge problem with this phone. I had always been partial to the Samsung phones so I did some research on the S8 and found that this problem (one that Samsung refused to address) with the S7 had been rectified with the introduction of the S8. Well guess what, the problem still exists. And this time it (the swelling) was worse on the S8 than what I experienced on the S7. So . . . Samsung has lost a customer, for life. Samsung, I’m sorely disappointed in you. Shame on you!
Most preferable stylish updated and expensive with heavy performance budget phone.. its net gaming multitasking is awsome. Thanks Samsung for making this lovely degice s8 . Family of S series.👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏

I hate notch, punch hole etc. I like 5.8 inch size of S8. If a phone is available with same design and higher spec I would like to buy. only I hate is exynos chip and low ram.
I have been using for 2.5 years, still love it, performance, camera, browsing speed, display crunch, dolby atmos sound, one hand usage, only other option i see better than this is the S9. Big fan of one hand use phones rather than big 6.5 inches crap, 0.5 more inches and here you have a whole tab in your pocket.

Feel no rush to go out and buy the latest 'thing' right now. Used to change phone fairly frequently but just dont feel that same urge as I did before which says a lot for the phone.
Had this phone 3 years now and undoubtedly the best mobile phone I've ever had. 24 month contract ran out and I just went on Sim Only contract. Battery still good. Never had any issues with it. Just going to keep it until it gives up the ghost.
I have s8 dual sim, still running on oreo 8.0. Any solution?

Qsilver, 12 May 2020Hi Guys Just thought I'd update you all after having heating and battery drain issues since... moreI also got battery draining issues on my Note8 after the April update and did several things to solve the issue without result. Yesterday I got the May update and hopefully it will be fixed.
Well, the Samsung Galaxy S8 kinda feels good, except for one thing. The Phone was bought 2 years ago and on the bottom-right corner, when my phone had small cracks, a few months ago, the screen adhesive was wearing out. And It still has that worn out adhesive on the bottom-right corner, so the screen may not feel too good, for some reason. :(

Hi Guys
Just thought I'd update you all after having heating and battery drain issues since the April 2020 software update.
1. I cleared the phone cache - it didn't seem to help.
2. I did a reset - it didn't help.
3 I then switched the phone to safe mode and the phone went cool and battery drain was minimal! So I figured it's 1 of the apps which somehow was doing this. I still do not know which app/s this was because I pretty much have the same apps installed again.
So what I did after that back going back to normal mode, was uninstall all the non proprietary apps from the phone. Remember to clear cache for each app before you uninstall it.
Restart your phone, and install only the apps you require, a few at a time and check how the phone performs. If it starts heating, then you will be able to figure out which app it is.
This was a most frustrating exercise but I'm happy to have the phone back to working well. I get standby time of up to 14 hours with a few hours on screen time usage of the usual. I also have mail syncing every 15 min in the background.
So Good Luck!
Levy, 08 May 2020Which model do you have, Exynos and SD?I have the Exynos version.
