Samsung is the dum brand in the world. It has non designable phones. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has no difference in design with Galaxy S3,Note2,S,Grand,etc.That's why hate very much Samsung Galaxy S4..Their is no need of gestures in S4 and sensors. With the prensence of gestures and sensor it does not make the phone better. It' dum non designable body made with plastic very very ugly. The need is the Ultrapixels,Boom Tech Sound,Zoe's,long battery life,LCD touchscreen, best camera in the world,Most designable body in the world made up of metallic and aluminium make phone better,Water proof cover, best camera functions,Best user interface makes sense which is on HTC One.Also HTC One is offered as the best phone of 2013.If do you have any problem in ranking about Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One please log onto www.techradar.com and go to phones and communication section and search 20 best mobiles in the world. The first place is HTC One and the second place is Samsung Galaxy S4m and third place is Sony Xperia Z.So,if you are going to buy a smartphone go for the HTC One,Known as the best phone in the world

> In reply to vipin @ 2013-05-22 11:12 from tUun - click to readHave you tried taking the battery out? Turn the phone off, wait for all the lights to go out then take off the back cover, take out the battery for 10 seconds, then replace and turn on. This is a factory reset which you cannot do with a phone with a non removable battery. Well actually you can but it is not as easy. There are other things you can do too but if the network problem still exists, are you sure it is not your provider? Contact them to rule that cause out.

> In reply to k3vindiaz @ 2013-05-23 00:39 from Pvei - click to readYou have completely missed the point on the octa-core issue. It is big.LITTLE tech (4xA15 cores @ 1.6GHz/4xA7 cores @ 1.2GHz). The idea is when you are connecting to a web page or doing anything that involves animation, which is cpu intensive, it uses the A15 core, which is the BIG core. All the other times, when load is not too high for them, it uses the A7 core (little). It is all about saving power. The A15 guzzles power where as the A7 takes tiny sips...starting to get the picture?
One other point on the Exynos 5 5410 octa-core processor is it is clocked at 1.6GHz NOT 2GHz. I think you are confusing it with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 S4 which is 1.9GHz and ok it sounds big but the Exynos 5 benchmarks around 29,000 + in anTuTu benchmark and the Snapdragon 600 benchmarks at 25,600 + (my processor with my benchmark). With the way tech is going, by Q4 13 there will be plenty of games etc that need this power. So with these details revealed NO! It is not overkill.

Samsung Galaxy S4.
Why?
Because the iphone just doesn't live up to anything that the S4 has:
Camera:
S4 - 13MP
Iphone 5 - 8MP
Screen:
S4 - 1080 x 1920 pixels, 4.99 inches (~441 ppi pixel Density)
Iphone 5- 640 x 1136 pixels, 4.0 inches (~326 ppi pixel density)
The phone 5 doesn't really have an "HD" display
Processor:
S4 - 1.9 GHZ Quad Core
Iphone 5- 1.2 GHZ Dual Core (HAHA so behind times) (my droid RAZR has that and it came out over 2 years ago, nice job Apple)
SD Card:
S4 - YES - up to 64GB
IPhone 5 - NO- Pay 200 dollars more for the same phone and get 64GB of memory..
Battery:
S4 - 2600 mAh LiIon, Removable (so if you want, you can buy a new battery, When a phone doesn't hold a charge, it can simply be the battery they lose the power to fully charge)
Iphone 5- Non-removable Li-Po 1440 mAh battery
Customize..
S4- YES widgets and much more along with some really cool features
Iphone 5- No - Every iphone 5 will have 5 x 4 grid of apps. The new software might include widgets but they may get sued for it since Apple sued for the pinch to zoom feature.
Just go for the S4, its just a way more powerful phone.. and just wayyy cooler then the same crap from the Apple Iphone every year. Don't buy a phone that seems tougher, just get a case for the phone each phone could break from any type of fall.

> In reply to Memogun @ 2013-05-22 06:28 from LFwF - click to readThese lag issues can be fixed by going into Developer Options in settings, scroll down to Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale and Animator Duration Scale. By default, all these are set to 1x. To start with, try setting them to 0.5x. This should help considerably with your lags. You can even turn them off...is up to you, your preference. I won't explain Animation Scales here, just know that it has to do with the smoothness of screen changes amongst other things.
Can't find the Developer Options menu? Samsung have hidden it. Open settings, go to About Device, scroll down to Build Number. Start tapping, quickly, in the Build Number box, some say 5 times but I think is a bit more than that (was for me). Eventually you will get a notification when you tap, something like 4 more taps to unhide Developer Options, just follow those instructions and...VIOLA!!! Is now unhidden and accessible

> In reply to Fmj9 @ 2013-05-22 10:07 from p%rX - click to readThe 7GB of memory is used up by all the software features installed on the phone by Samsung. My advice would be to get yourself a, say, 32GB SD card then root your phone so the card can take apps etc. With an unrooted phone all you can use an SD card for is for saving pictures, videos, music...stuff like that

> In reply to math553 @ 2013-05-22 13:21 from XNvY - click to readAre you for real??? How in the hell can you break a phone by putting it in your pocket??? What a joke. I only know of one person who broke their phone in their pocket...my son but he happened to be holding a bowling ball at the time and...of course he smashed it against his pocket but to break it by just putting it in???I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!
I have dropped my s4 on numerous occasions onto my tiled bathroom floor...no problem but then of course, I have a screen protector and a cover on it, like most normal people, who want to protect their investment, do!

People complain about Nokia/WP8 doesn't have a
quadcore. The only OS that NEEDS a quadcore is
Android. WP8 = dualcore. BB10 = dualcore. iOS =
dualcore. You're right, dualcore is good enough.

> In reply to ash @ 2013-05-22 21:44 from 3sEw - click to readI have had this phone since 26 April and I would say yes definitely...this is the phone you want! It is blisteringly fast and super responsive and battery is brilliant. When I first got it I was getting about 35 hours with surfing and email etc. I turned on power saving mode and am getting way more. As of 9am 23/05 I have 49% battery left and have 2 days 27 mins since charging...YES! That's 48.5 hours with 49% left. IS ALL GOOD!

I was going to buy this but i opted for the note 2 cuz its cheaper now, and has a pen :P. i believe those monstrous features this phone has are just for marketing and for people to say "my phone is octa-core and full HD!"(a sad truth is that many people dont even know what are they talking about with those features).
For example the full HD screen.. you won't see a difference between 720p and 1080p on smaller screens. I think you see the difference on bigger screens (like in 40+ inch TVs). the octa core CPU is another thing.. a quad core CPU clocked at 2 GHz is more than enough for preety much anything out there, the extra CPU is overkill.
The S4 is no doubt a great phone, but it can be cheaper ($500 price range) and still be a great performer without the extra CPU and the "full" HD screen.
