> In reply to flicks @ 2011-12-08 11:07 from IVRT - click to readGlad to be of help. Still, it would be prudent to visit your local store and have someone demo the actual unit for you (if that is possible). Nothing beats "seeing is believing" especially for purchases such as this. :)

> In reply to Gabs @ 2011-12-07 10:43 from t7UC - click to readthanks for the reply.. i'm going to use my smartphone mainly to do everything, keeping on schedules, calls, texting, browsing, fb-ing and taking photos, as well keeping in mind the budget thingy.. so i think this may be the right phone for me afterall.. so the Phone Arena's review really made us all quite worry about this phone of issues like call and camera quality.. so thanks for clearing those~ ^^,

> In reply to galaxycraver @ 2011-12-08 06:46 from thfb - click to readWell, I cannot say exactly whether it is scratch resistant or not, I would not want to try it on my phone. :) But the screen actually looks sturdy - I ordered my screen protector from Amazon yesterday, and I have been using this mobile phone since Monday, I think, and without the screen protector - so far, no scratches! :)

> In reply to galaxycraver @ 2011-12-08 06:46 from thfb - click to readI've had mine for just over a month now and the screen remains scratch-free. To be sure, however, I bought a screen protector and had it installed on my phone. No more worries.

> In reply to Buyer @ 2011-12-07 23:03 from my}c - click to readThanks for your response! Just checked and got the upgrade to 2.3.6 via Kies. Seems pretty zippy but I'm still not certain what changes it brought. The autobrightness option still missing!

> In reply to Propective Buyer @ 2011-12-07 23:09 from PEGw - click to readIn fairness, though, the Galaxy W is not much of a looker (looks rugged to me, but that's how I like it anyway... less noticeable, as thieves also very much like shiny things as much as we do :). If you're after something sexy to look at with decent specs and a not-so-large phone size, you might want to consider the HTC Sensation S instead.
Given that all other items are almost at par, I'll still prefer my Galaxy W due to its power for its smaller form factor compared to similar phones, but of course, each to his/her own preferences.

Thank you very much for your response...
I think I'll be going for Galaxy W...not because I have a small hand but I'm really into crisper images...

> In reply to 2g11 @ 2011-12-07 13:32 from mcut - click to readYes, it was from Kies :) Perhaps it has got something to do with your location? I am from the UK, so maybe we got the official release earlier than other parts of the world? That is just a probability, though.

> In reply to Prospective Buyer @ 2011-12-07 18:52 from PEGw - click to readPS. it would be better if you actually see the two in comparison when you visit a local shop (very hard to gauge just by description of reviewing owners such as me).
Coincidentally I was also choosing between these two exact models when I thought of replacing my old phone a month ago, and both looked very clear in demo (the SL though has deeper blacks and nicer contrasts than the W, while the W has crisper details than the SL).

> In reply to Prospective Buyer @ 2011-12-07 18:52 from PEGw - click to readConsidering that both are 480 x 800 in resolution, images on the Galaxy W looks crisper because of the higher ppi (points per inch) because of the smaller screensize (252 ppi vs. SL's 233 ppi). For those with smaller hands this is a better choice especially for one-hand typing/Swyping.
SL though has the advantage of easier manageability for those with larger hands because of the screen estate (ie. less mistakes when typing using the onscreen keyboard), and the larger screen has its perks especially when watching movies or browsing.
