You need to do a battery calibration. Type *#0228# and then charge to 100%. If this doesn't fix it change the battery with a new one.
Honestly for a young kid this thing works well. Laggy and stuttery every now and again but not expensive so is quite a compelling option. Still now in 2022 id recommend anything Android 7/8 + as 6.0 is starting to lose app support
