Looks like Nexus S will work only on T Mobile networks and only 2G for AT&T..

For GSM Arena
Samsung GT-i9020 is not previous name. That's how it's going to be relased in most of the world where Google is not present. Here in CIS for example.

why a phone with 4.5 inches?
4 inches is the maximum for a good phone, especially when it is amoled.

Just crying here..if you don't like it, don't buy it.

512mb Ram, 1Ghz Processor, 4" screen. This is a joke! Google has just released another flop like the first nexus.
What were they thinking?
When I first got wind of a nexus 1 successor, I was hoping to see a a nexus with 4.5" screen, 1.3 Ghz processor and possibly 1Gb Ram>
That way google could hope to attempt challenging the iphone.
However, with this they will be glad if the phone is still selling by end of Q1 2011.

I think google has definitly given us (the pubplic) an alternative as it relates to a good smartphone, the Android OS has come a far way. the partership with several hard ware developers such as Motorola, LG, Sony Ericcson and last but not least has shown significant prowess, for this device, I still haven't sseen the battery life in talk as well as stand by time if you guys(android) read these comments this is something u might want to look into

Screens to small, so what if it's flash enabled (users all your bandwidth and data) and you can view movie trailers; on a screen that small your not going to fully appreciate them.

ok i think i know why no hspa+. the nexus s has free hotspots which T-mobile wants to charge for but google believes it should be free so in a compromise google decided to leave of the hspa+ and T-mobile agreed to be in partnership with it. The best speeds i have seen from hspa+ is 10mbps down but most speeds i see are between 3 and 6 which i get on my nexus one. I have no need for 10mbps down speeds on my phone. thats for like downloading large files and online gaming on my ps3. Anyone know if this phone has DLNA?

Actually, think what you said...
Android version history: v1.6, v2.0, v2.1, v2.2 (all of these version only one major update (flash) came with v2.2)
Some android phones expamle sucking version updates;
1) Xperia X10 release March 2010 with v1.6, and updated to v2.1 (still existing v2.2) not v2.2 at Novamber 2010 (8 months later) and still suck with flash support... X10 dead...
2) Galaxy S updated to v2.2 months later again... According to Samsung's explanation update to v2.3 will be researched for performance criteria... Just Samsung tell lie to Galaxy S owners..
Neither google nor samsung wont allow to update v2.3 to Galaxy S, because Nexus S sales will drop if Galaxy S updated to v2.3.
Just sales politic... Galaxy S dead...
3) HTC made 6 different WP7 OS running phones in one month which indicate continue with WP7 more than android...
Lastly, iOS update history;
# 3.2 2.x: Second major release of the OS

* 3.2.1 2.0
* 3.2.2 2.0.1
* 3.2.3 2.0.2
* 3.2.4 2.1
* 3.2.5 2.2
* 3.2.6 2.2.1

# 3.3 3.x: Third major release of the OS

* 3.3.1 3.0
* 3.3.2 3.0.1
* 3.3.3 3.1
* 3.3.4 3.1.2
* 3.3.5 3.1.3
* 3.3.6 3.2
* 3.3.7 3.2.1
* 3.3.8 3.2.2

# 3.4 4.x: Fourth major release of the OS

* 3.4.1 4.0
* 3.4.2 4.0.1
* 3.4.3 4.0.2
* 3.4.4 4.1
* 3.4.5 4.2
* 3.4.6 4.2.1

for all iphone modes (except 1g, 2g)
no iphone 5 or 6 exist made by Apple now, may be chinese phones exist :)
even if iphone 5,6,7 would made by Apple in 2-3 years, still iphone 4 gets updates of ios major releases due to its powerfull hardware...

Ok, I just got finished reading the Best Buy faq on this phone and they definitely said it's a 3g phone and not a hspa+ phone so does this mean its speed would be like my hd2? Will any of its other specs make it faster than my hd2? Thanks for your answers in advance! Billy

> In reply to This or Desire HD?? @ 2010-12-07 01:43 from xycY - click to readSamsung again and again built cheaper plastic toys....... I have a desire hd for about 3 weeks and I want to say is everything you can expect from a phone: 8mp camera, 768 ram(not 512 like nexus s), dual led flash, and much more. I like my htc and I think htc phones is for mens, plastic toys is for children! HTC BETTER PHONE!!!

why all the fuss about the memory card slot it has more than we need for memory...second d1 videos offers great if you need 10 gb for your videos in hd quality buy a sony video recorder....i dont know wy people forget about a powerful os and an unmatched display with a curved screen and a contour display....consider that the nexus s is a unique handset the first of its kind....
