guys i got the samsung i450 today !!!
my thoughts so far:
Doesn't look as great as i expected
Double slide is cool
Built in memory ONLY 25 MB, DONT FORGET TO GET A MICRO SD CARD WITH IT!
Screen is great
The phone comes bare, no ringtones, no pictures, no games, etc. However there are an adequate number of programs.
Im going to check out the audio quality next. However, i need to get a card. Can someone confirm if this works with SDHC cards? Thanks

yes, unlike the "all-around" n81, i450 charges via USB..also, u can play high quality WMV files unlike the "all-around" n81 (the option is to download a separate software like coreplayer which u cant get for free).
this is the best samsung phone today..

hey guys, i need to know one thing, it is really important. Can you please tell me if the samsung i450 charges via usb? i.e. can you charge it by plugging it into the usb port on the computer?
If so is it 5V?

You numpty the N95 is A Multimedia convergance device! N81 is fully advertised as a MUSIC AND GAMING Device!
Poor audio quality? You obviously KNOW NOTHING OF ITS HARDWARE! Its got THE VERY SAME DEDICATED Audio Toshiba DAC-33 DSP Chip of the N91! Both N81 and N91 are top music devices you numpty! Have you seen the N81-8GB S-Edition it comes with BOSE headphones!! The N81 headphones also come with their own remote control and their own 3.5mm jack for extention.
The headphones themselvs are crap but people buy their own headphones nowhere days, Senhieser, BOSE, B&O etc. . . Now get over it, N81 is a music phone EVEN THE MUSIC PLAYER AUTOSTARTS WHEN BOOTING UP THE PHONE!!

phone sucks. doesnt do much. closing the slide doesnt make the phone go back to the main screen. the middle rotating key is too tough.Camera sucks.cant listen to radio while surfing the net. cant use headphones to change station. Or maybe it does all this but no user manual was in box and shop i bought it from doenst care. i hate chatz cellular- even though it was my choice.

You numpty! You listen to the wrong people,its clearly written even on the N81's box that its a Music aod Gaming device!, the Marketing Manager said the same in its Q&A ,thats all the proof you need. OH and even the N81 billboard adverts and TV ad its written: GAMING,MUSIC AND VIDEO.

dont u read the review on mobile-review?there u will realize why i450 has much bter sonic experience & sound quality than your all around n81!it's NOT a MUSIC PHONE!even n76 has 3.5mm jack but it cant compete with other music phones..music phones from nokia are either in the expressmusic or the music edition category!n91 is a music edition phone, u can even see it their advertisement..even nokia technicians & sales agents admit n81 is NOT a music, it's only you who keep on bragging it is!

N91 8GB
Why would someone buy that outdated brick??? I know about N81 and other newer music phones EU Restriction, N81 Sound Quality is still very much on par with N91 main difference is volume, N91 is much louder via headphones.
i450 and N81 are the new high end music phones, why would someone buy the N91 over them when the sound quality is basicaly on par with N91.

N91 and N81 both phones have Toshiba DAC-33 sound chip.but if you listen both phones with good pair of headset you will find that N91 8GB is far better than in terms of sound quality and their sonic experiences.Its because of higher range of amplifier,N81 have a EU Volume Restriction thats why its not sounding like great N91 8GB .So conclusion is N91 8GB is rulz always.

OFFCOURSE its not an Xpress Music category phone BECAUSE ITS AN Nseries!! Both N81 and N91 ARE High-end Music Phones. N91 was not Xpress music either, XpressMusic phones are the budget Music Phones, 5700 being the Flagship XpressMusic device, AND THE N81 being The Flagship MUSIC phone in NOKIA so its better than 5700.
LOL! You phoned them? Those customer services employees don't know much in the 1st place. The Q&A N81 Discussion With the NOKIA N81 PRODUCT MANAGER has the proper details. N81 is mainly a Music, Gaming and Video phone.
Why would NOKIA implement dedicated music keys, an expensive Toshiba DAC-33 DSP sound chip, Multimedia navi-wheel, 3.5mm jack, Music Player waiting in background and a sliding lock and then not call it a music phone? GET REAL! Its obviously a music phone as well.
You never answered my question,how much RAM does i450 have after boot?

I am usnsing nokiya from long time and all family member and friends but i listen that samsung intorduce i450 with software support and easy menu like nokia first time i will change my brand but .. This phone is making me wait too long! Very bad for customers like me. They're trying to impose a ridiculous market strategy. I'm waiting anymore! I guess I'll have to buy a Nokia N81 or n95 and never i and my family members touch samsung cause from october 2007 i am waiging up to march 3008 in india. now how much i have to wait please reply me it is availabel in other country except india..

The i450 also utilizes the B&O’s IceMobile amplifier, which automatically puts it in one row with most latest and greatest Samsung-branded offerings – both those positioned as music-minded solutions and no-frills devices.
Anticipating the conclusion found in the section of the sonic experience delivered by the i450, I shall say that I found this phone’s sound quality to be pretty decent, and definitely not worse than that of a stand-alone music player. Also, I faced it off against the Apple iPhone and didn’t really notice any tremendous differences in this department; furthermore, the Samsung’s solution would outdo the iPhone pretty often, so in my opinion, this is one of the market’s best music-inclined offerings as far as music quality is concerned. Generally speaking, the i450 has no direct competition as of today, except for the Nokia N81 (the junior memory card-based model). These two have many options on their respective spec sheets in common, like price (360 Euro), OS version, and similarly sized memory cards shipping with them. Among Nokia’s trumps are the N-Gage functionality and a couple of demo games on board, plus Wi-Fi connectivity, while the Samsung’s offspring has only sound quality going for it.

i agree..n81 is an all around phone, just like n95..it can play music but not the kind of quality i450 plays..it's not even in the xpressmusic category of Nokia where they put their best music phones..
some people really want to complicate things..even Nokia doesnt consider N81 a music phone..i called them already...

N81 is NOT u music phone although it's good in handling it!You can even check the nokia website or ask some nokia people.or get some brochures!and even in TV commercial, nokia doesnt put emphasis in music as far as n81 is concerned!it's an all around phone with gaming capabilities & wi-fi..Samsung i450 is THE Music Phone..Don't believe in some nokia freaks out there who gives you a different stroy..
i450 is a better phone when it comes to music..you can check the review on mobile-review.com & other websites..the audio in the speaker & in the headset is of very high quality..only the n91 of Nokia can be compared with this one..

You are wrong. A high-end music phone LIKE N81 and i450 SHOULD have WiFi for DOWNLOADING music, after all its all about having AND DOWNLOADING music on the go. Wireless is a lot better and most major cities, restaurants, hotels etc. . . can see this and so having a Music phone WITH WiFi is great a PLUS.
By the way N81 has 26MB internal memory NOT 12MB GSMArena made an error there, but lets get real who uses the internal mem that much? My old N80 had 45mb internal and i only used it for messages and Opera.
N81 is a GAMING, VIDEO AND MUSIC phone, not just music. Get over it N81 is the better music phone, even its Music keys are well placed, Ngage is an added bonus,so is the well placed 3.5mm jack.
N81 369mhz Cpu Freescale
i450 330mhz Cpu OMAP2431
N81 clearly better with its Freescale chip, i450 has a waterd down OMAP2 chip.
