I agree with some guys here that i450 is better than N81... the built in memory of i450 is 40mb while the N81 sucks for its 12mb memory. Wi-fi is not that necessary for a music phone, if you want Wi-fi then choose another model! Its that simple. Also, the sound of this phone is much better compared to N81... i think because this phone is really built for music lovers and not for GAMING! If you want gaming, buy N81... if you like high quality music, then i really recommend this phone.
BTW, don't compare the i450 with the N81-8gb because it has a huge memory capacity.

No its not, don't you understand? N91 and N81 have THE SAME DAC-33 DSP SOUND CHIP! They are the same at sound quality.
No i450 is missing WiFi so already its NOT better than N81.

i450 is better than n81..dont make it complicated..the hardware is better & the music quality is unmatched..
n91 is still the best music phone from nokia..

Hi All
I been reading the review of some comparing the Music qualities and speaker of the phone. Well, I am the owner of the both i450 and N81 8GB, just like to share my personal experiances over the speaker output from the phone. Both are suck ... i450 do not produce the stereo feel and N81 stereo speaker at both side are so bassless. But via a good earphone both fair each other and I was rather surprise that i450 sound qualities throught the ear phone, especially via bluethooth stereo earphone. N81 kind of soft when use bluethooth stereo earphone.
Well both are good phone and both and their pro and con, I will just fair it on my own opinion.
Camera: i450 is better than N81
set speaker: both are too improve, but loudness goes to i450.
music qualities: I still prefer N81
Battery life: N81 is more lasting.
Overall: N81 had more function that I450 do not have, such as GPS / Wifi and of course the 8 GB flash memory.
there are for difference user hence please do not compare against N81 8GB which are the high end phone than i450, but for Samsung lover, i 450 will stand out comparing with the rest of Samsung phone such as F series and the music series.

N81 is positioned as a Music AND Gaming phone!! Yes your little i450 is lighter, so what? You weak? 140g is actualy VERY light. N81 carries the same Toshiba DAC-33 DSP sound chip as N91 so they are the same at sound quality SO GET OVER IT N81 IS BETTER!
CorePlayer was free for me,wont say where i got it, and its NOT just to play WMV its to play MPEG-2 videos and other codecs that even your little i450 WONT TAKE!!
Oh trust me the diff between 330mhz and 369mhz is VERY noticeable when playing games, vides etc. . .
Further more nowhere days people buy better headphones like BOSE, Senhieser, Shure etc. . . You haven't seen the N81-8GB SP Edition have you? It comes with BOSE headphones.
Also N81 has better stand by plug-ins and display showing that its a true Symbian S60 os9.2 FP-1 phone, whereas i450 is still missing some and is a wana be.
Doesn't make much of a difference if the connectors are exposed or not because at the end of the day dust goes in EITHER way theres no stopping it so i realy don't understand why you keep whinning on about N81 not having the covers.
GSMArena have already said i450 speakers are not well positioned and i agree they are placed incorrectly for when you want the slider closed.

i disagree, design wise, i450 looks a lot better.the connectors are properly covered unlike your n81 & your usb socket is always exposed unlike my i450..i450 is also lighter & no, the audio it produced is far better than 81..in fact, nokia did not position n81 as a music phone...it's more of a gaming phone bcoz of the ngage..and oh, u have to download a core player to play a simple wmv file?i doubt if u can get it for free and even if you do, that's a hassle already..
and regarding the CPU, i450 uses 330mhz while n81 has the 369mhz..it's not much of a difference..my phone is so snappy..even faster than my previous 6110 navigator..hey, i like nokia too...but i admit, this symbian phone from samsung beats all slider of nokia except the n95..
u can read the review in mobile-review.com so you'll know that i450 is the best music phone right now except perhaps for the old n91/n91 8gb..and oh, almost everybody uses the default headset..it's a hassleto buy a seperate one especially if u buy a so-called music phone..well, n81 is not a music phone so u probably have an excuse why its headset is of dismal quality... :-)

Sorry you're wrong, N81 is a lot better,and the speakers are better positioned than i450. I agree that i450 has better headphones in package but honestly who still uses default headset??
The i450 and N81 have similar sound quality, although N81 has better noise reduction, BOTH N81 and i450 are better in sound than N95, THATS A FACT.
Your mate is lost, he obviously doesn't know how to put his N81 to better use.
WMV we've got CorePlayer for that. Much better navi-wheel, better CPU, Ngage etc. . . N81 is CLEARLY better
How much RAM does i450 have after boot anyway?

i forgot, my i450 plays WMV files while his n81 cant..he will need a a 3rd party software to do that..and i450 has a better headset in the package...and ofcourse, the sound in the headset is better than n81 - even better than n95 8GB of my other ofcmates..ofcors n95 is the KING..but between n81 and i450? - i450 handsdown - the mixture of samsung hardware & symbian software is totally unmatched..

this phone ia a LOT better than n81.my ofcmate has n81 & he envies my phone. :-)better design (the edges are better), quality materials (not shiny like n81), cooler menu icons, connectors are properly covered(unlike n81 where the small holes are covered by a big plastic), no unnecessary buttons, sliding speaker with MUCH LOUDER audio, sliding mechanism is smoother (typical for Samsung), etc.
His n81 has wi-fi though but he still wants my i450..;-)

i have i450 and compared it with n81 8gb
for sure the n81 is more better than i450 because of its features but the sound quality in i450 is better than n81

You have obviously not seen the N81 in real life, it looks A LOT better than i450 in general, and NO actualy N81 sounds better, i450 is close thou.

The truth is that i450 NEVER was better than N81, only good thing was that the i450 is cheaper, otherwise the N81 has the faster CPU, Ngage gaming, better UI, better design, a Toshiba DAC-33 DSP sound chip thats better than the Samsung DSP the i450 has and also N81 has the better and more user-friendly Navi-Wheel.

my i450 sux! ppl r givin it such positive reviews! nd they say its betta than n81! well, mine 1 is jus so psycho! it duzn't even recognize contacts! wenever a phone cums or sms cums it duznt display the name! i've tried every possible solution, but i guess i need a firmware update! i think the retailer sold a beta version to me!
