The phone is great.Symbian rocks!!!endless themes from N95 all of them are working great,good at games,looks really cool big screen but in the sun light it sucks visibility is poor.Finger print magnet!Track ball is nice but is rubish when you want to navigate witx Garmin Mobile XT moving the scroll is almost imposible(sad),but at the price of 190 Euros is GOOD and i have life waranty:))))The camera is great it takes beautiful pictures,autofocus is doing it's job,3.5 mm jack very usefull.9/10.C'mon Samsung more Symbian phones!!!!!!!!!!!

hi. i bought a samsung i550 two days back. from the day i bought it, no mass storage mode, nor the pc suite mode is working. when i connected the cable, the drivers were prompted to be installed. i could even update the firmware, but still i couldnt use it with data transfer or pc suite mode. someone please help me as soon as possible.

Well imo, its a great phone for the price. Really similar to nokia n95 excluding the trackball which aint so easy at first, but u'll get used to it.. GPS works really good with Garmin Mobile XT, and with lil tweaks, you can install Nokia software init ;)

is it easy to play games with this track ball or it hard to play,because i will mostly us this phone for playing games,gba emulator and other emulators

finally sell it after using it for 5 months...

- sound quality thru headset is SUPERB.. (using custom earphone of course. the standard supplied earphone sucks). way better than my new Nokia 5130 XM
- feature is superb.. GPS, WiFi, you name it
- battery life is decent.. 2 days (48 hours) of standby can be achieved easily

but... all that doesn't count as the TRACKBALL SUCKS BIG TIME !!!

i got SOOOO IRRITATED the way the trackball behaves.. it's not the trackball faulty.. but i guess the implementation of such trackball for this phone is just not as comfortable as expected.
- scrolling thru phonebook - takes long time. you have to type several letter first.
- scrolling thru the menu - often gets wrong direction. it goes left when we want to go down. you have to control the trackball precisely.
- browsing the internet - sucks.. always have to use 'map' mode
- operating ovi maps or garmin - even more difficult to browse the map.. (i'd say.. almost inoperable)

i think this is a great phone but feel more like Nokia N73 only has plus point in GPS (i550 W)n Wifi
i hate most the track ball its suck when use to surf at internet, you cannot raised up ur speed to locate the bottom page.u can use minimize but its annoying cause u cannot see what's write on it, and the other thing is u cannot open multiple pages.
MP3 player has no equaliser n makes the phone just like another regular phone even the sound is so clear but the earphone fill not comfortable at my ear.but thaks for the 3,5 mm jack.

I have used this mobile phone for almost 1 year.
Sceen clarity is very good. No problem with Symbian OS, you can install any software you usually used in Nokia phone. GPS is working well. No problem with Internet/WIFI/browser. Camera and video are amazing. Batery life is 2 days (with normal operation).
Firmware self-upgrade process is very easy and available in internet. Everything is almost perfect.
But, one thing i hate from this phone. The main problem is track ball. The response is getting worse and worse after 1 year. I don't know why Samsung put this suck thing on this mobile.
If you have more money, don't buy this phone. the track ball will bother you for sure.

Two thumbs for Samsung who created the feature as perfect as possible, but two middle finger for putting damn bad track ball on it.

for all you guys who tried to flash you set and failed just like i did .. after repeating the steps found in early posts ..

i managed to do it but with few changes first

do all the steps as written except the last one (nom 9) instead of pressing 4 and 7 ..
press 1 and for and thats it .. if you failed to do the steps from 1 to 8 try to do it again after changing the port connected

Hello, have any firmware xx or xc region (any with spanish support) with wifi? I recently bought a i550w buth have a non-wifi firmware, i have another problem the gps constantly uncheck the internal gps, and i have to configure everytime i want to use garminxt.
I will appreciate any help you can give me.
