i only experience auto restart once . still acceptable, havent been a problem to me yet. even my old nokia 6260 symbian OS s60 restart itself sometimes. btw, what accesories u finding?

I just bought the phone a week ago in Malaysia. I am beginning to worry after reading all this posts here. I have no restart problems but I can't seem to use the GPS feature. I'm not sure if you need to register with a service provider in order to use it. As of now, whenever I try out the GPS I will get the "no connection" on my screen. Also, there is no NAVFON software in my phone but I have a NAVFON trial period card. So do I need to have a registration with a service provider in order to use the GPS function?

I agree that this phone restarts every now and then, it is happening with my i550. Even I have another problem, when the GSM signal is not available, the phone keeps on searching for the signal and it does not come out of that signal search even though I reach to an area with a strong GSM signal, I have to restart the phone to get GSm signal back. I took it to the agent in Dubai and they could not resolve anything, they told me that there was nothing wrong with the phone !!!! I even can not find any accessories for this phone.

And TC}i, so sad to here your story.. :( I am hoping so much that they are not true.. or at least.. It is only one small special case (defective item).

Anyone, If I buy this phone, in Delhi, India if I can use GPS without paying anything?? Else please advise which other options are available. I don't wanna pay for using GPS.

well, first thing i would like to ay is that all the points you have mentioned are wrong because, the phone didnt restart even one time with me! and the battery life is great,also the gps is better than nokia and it works like a dream!mmm about thw wifi i think you have a computer? but the wifi in the phone is like any other phone that has same feature, the camera is good and the sound quality is superb!really great phone and im waiting for the g810 to get it! thank you samsung..

I bought the i550w at Sunway on the 18th Feb 2008. I loved the phone as it had everything one can ask for in a Smart Phone. On the 19th Feb 2008, I discovered that the i550w re-started itself about 10x in a day and the GPS did not work and the NavFone software was not installed. I sent the phone back to FMG on the 19th Feb 2008. They kept the phone for 15 days and could not find a solution to the problem. I also bought the Anti-Virus from KaperSky for Symbian 60 3rd Edition and the software did not work. Thank god when I explained the situation to Kapersky, they gave me a refund USD 29.95. Finally today 5th March 2008, FMG told me that the GPS cannot work and they are refunding me RM1900 in 30 days time. Prior to this I also downloaded several .sisx applications but none could work with the i550w. Even the Samsung PC Suite which came with the phone was corrupted and I had to download it from samsung.com.my which only had the manual and the PcSuite Software. In short, its a nice phone but it cant work. It restarts every now and then, GPS doesnt work, WiFi signal not strong enough and battery life sucks. So, I dont think the i550w rocks. If you think it does, then good for you.

I've read somewhere on the net - engadgetmobile... It said that there is a blue card inside the box where we need to scratch in order to get the license key for the navigation software.

Is it true?

By the way, can please anyone tell me where I can get this phone in Klang Valley, Malaysia

i bought that phone from 3 days ago, and im not happy with it. First i have one big problem with it, that it restarts so much it by it ownself :-s second its network is very poor and its battery is very poor also as all other samsung devices , im seriously thinking to sell it and buy a SE mobile , i had SE w810i and for honesty that mobile rocks its very good but it had been stolen from me, anyway if anyone knows how to fix this problem. it has WiFi. FMG only carries that one with WiFI. Hence, we do not have i550 and i550w in malaysia
