I have this phone for almost one year now and it was too expencive for his possibilities, was about 350 retail in Croatia.
Right after purchase Samsung Kies offered firmware upgrade which slowed down already slow hardware/software.
Battery on normal business use lasts almost one day.
Camera has worst framerate ever seen on newer phones,
but pictures on bright sunlight looks nice.

Every now and then phone has bugs like:
rejecting calls when you answer them,
screen doesn't turn on after removeing from your ear,
loosing gsm signal,
GPS takes hours to find sattelites,
GPS position on camera use doesen't work...

Altough, it's nice phone, wireless network web browsing works, not too fast but i'm ok with it,

My next phone will be HTC in same pricing range...

> In reply to Abdul Shakeel @ 2011-01-09 21:51 from utqa - click to readFIRST YOUR SHOULD BE ROOTED otherwise it will not work

Then after do these 2 simple steps :

1.)Download (from xda develpers.com or google .com) these 'Three files' and simply copy into your SD card.
libRS.so
librs_jni.so
LiveWallpapersPicker.apk

2.) Download 'terminal emulator' from the android market and write following code in it :
su
mount -o remount,rw,codepage=utf8,vfat,xattr,check=no /dev/stl5 /system
cat /sdcard/LiveWallpapersPicker.apk > /system/app/LiveWallpapersPicker.apk
cat /sdcard/libRS.so > /system/lib/libRS.so
cat /sdcard/librs_jni.so > /system/lib/librs_jni.so
reboot

NOTE : In the begining of typing of this coding in emulator it will ask for superuser permission just select 'allow' it.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2011-01-10 16:43 from bJfB - click to readyes, update to Froyo is much better than 2.1
it has Task manager , App2Sd function & many other improvements.
In other words, it is necessary to update to 2.2(Froyo)
to make better use of your galaxy 3.

For other people who likes to root their galaxy 3. Now, they can also Root their phone.
just type on google ( andoidadvices.com gallaxy 3 root) you will be able to find it.

To use 2.3, you must use custom ROM´s, like Kyrillos 10.1 or CM7.2
