for anyone who owns this phone i wanted to know how the GPS is. Is it free once you purchase a software and how is it comapared to a stand alone navigation system.

Hi Enam,
I am from the Philippines! In Cebu to be exact. This costs around 20,000pesos if you buy it in cash. And somewhere around 22,000 if you swipe it off.
It does not have an FM radio because this is designed for businessmen who are on the go - a business phone to be exact.

Hi,
Make sure you update your library for WINMEDIA so that all the ringtones are updated. you can set all types of tones using the same steps i posted:
Start => Settings => Personal => Sounds and Alerts => Notifications => Play Sound
About 3rd party apps, i do not have any experience of downloading yet, however some people were able to tell me that it works seamlessly.
so far, i have only downloaded the google earth application for my GPS and it works excellent.

Hi there Ali,
May we know what websites 3rd party softwares are compatible for this i780 ? I hardly find any website's WM 6 softwares fit it, anyway...

Just make sure you click the correct dropdown first for "Event". event like an incoming call, text message, instant message, new email, missed call, reminders and etc. :)

i have my i780 for over a month now and i will try my best to answer the ff questions below.
1.> Stylus - i do not think you can buy one from your local retailers, you might have to order this thru the designated samsung service centers.
2.> Optical finger mouse - this can be adjusted with fast, medium and slow. this is actually better than a 5-way nav key. this works seamlessly! but when you are using the PDA - calendar option, i suggest you use the stylus for better navigation.
3.> Loud music - this phone is not built for loud music, but when you are in your car driving on a highway, you can still listen to the music on this phone thru its speakers. pretty decent if you ask me.
4.> Smart converter - is a measurement converter for your business, personal and "pleasure" needs. like how long is 1 mile when converted to km and etc.
5.> 3g video calling - this can be adjusted under the phone settings for video calling, you can turn it off or set a default picture if someone called you via video calling. then if you want to activate the video calling, you can do so while on a call.
