Hey guys.. i got this phone as a gift and was very impressed with it. It is really cool. However i am facing a problem with it. I did 'hard reset' yesterday and the then put a new sim ans the phone was workign fine. However the battery was low and the phone died by evening. I charged it and tried to switch it on again but the phone just comes on and then comes to the screen indicating'wimdows mobile' and then shuts down again. i tried to swtich on without a sim but its still the same. Could anyone help me out with this problem?

KIDS an update for all of you:
I recently downloaded tellme application on my i780 which is running on WM6.1 and the application works just fine. Here's the link:
Follow these 3simple step and you'd enjoy using tellme: Please read all the step carefully!!
Step#1: From the above listed weblink http://forum.mobilism.org/view....php?t=85077
please download both Tellme application for Samsung interprid and then download Microsof Voice Command 1.6
Step#2: Before you can install Tellme application I strongly recommend you to install the Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 application to your phone memory rather than your SDcard.
Step#3: After you have loaded the voice command 1.6 to your phone memory then install the Tellme application for Samsung Interprid on to you phone memory. Then try using the application ensure your gprs or 3G or Wifi is working to use the service. The first time the application run you may not get the kind of service, please reboot your phone and try again and then the application will be functional.

Im from Malaysia, Ive been using this phone for 1 year now, i bought it second hand from a shop for around $160. I am VERY VERY SATISFIED with this phone.
It has all the modern functions of a smartphone (wifi, gps, video call, etc). The only drawback is the phone camera which is not that good. Plus it has WM6, perfect for my Fritz Chess app. ive experienced no problems whatsoever, yet.

Kindly help me out, i did ''hard reset'' on my phone thou it restarted and showed this 'Tap the screen to set up your windows mobile-based device' which i did and it showed again 'Tap the target firmly and accurately at each location on the screen. The target will continued to move until the screen is aligned' which i have been doing since 4 days now, yet it is still the same. What do i do its sghi780.

Hi, all you people who have been complaining that this phone is crap and you don't have good # of applications please spend more time surfing the net or just shut-up and read this review.
This review is for all WM phones upto 6.5.3Version.
For all those who are stuck with WM6.1 here are a few awesome applications to download. If you've been complaining about the phone having a old media player I'd suggest you keep your credit card ready and download Kinoma Player, those who cannot afford it please download KinomaFree Player this is an amazing application it lets you play your music when the phone goes into standby mode as well. Though the free player has a few limitations, what it does offer above the rest is being able to play your fav Shoutcast Radio Channel on Wifi, 3G and GPRS(dont recommend.) You can download lots of Podcast of your fav artist and get audio review of best selling books as well.
This application works both on 6.1 and 6.5versions.
Another application is TellMe application works only for 6.5 or 6.5.3 versions of windows mobile. Its a audio based service that reads out messages to you while your driving and also becomes a stenographer and types your message while your driving, it lets you access bing maps and gives you details on the closest restaurant in the area your at and more.
TVUPlayer Application one amazing application if your a young college going kid or a business man travelling around the world and can't access news channels or movie channels of your choice in a foreign country, then I'd suggest you download TVU-Player it offers selected list of channels that flash on your screen it may range from BBC, CNB to HBO International, Few Indian Bollywood channels and fashion and music TV channels.
Please note: The channels may vary from country to country where a user may be. I am from India and I get load of Bollywood, British, US, European and Chinese channels.
If your a social networking freak and love using twitter then I'd suggest you download Twikini or PockeTwitV77 both work really well though I must remind you if you want to use Twikini you need to buy the license. If your like me and don't wanna buy the the license then surf the net and download the License to activate the application.
Callfire works on WM6.0 to 6.5.3Ver this is the best call filtering application available in the market for free I don't remember the website I downloaded it from probably if you do a google or bing search you'd surely get it. The best part of callfire is you can make use of blacklist # as well as the software is smart enough to block messages from unnecessary spammers without putting their #'s into the black list. For business travelers, if you hate receiving marketing calls while your traveling, just go into option and click on accept calls only from my phone book and trust me when I say this it doesn't let any other call come through until its on your phonebook.
Chats: Use Nimbuzz or Fring works both on 5.0 to 6.5.3
Fring is good but has limitations on the # of characters you type.
Nimbuzz on the other hand works really well supports all sorts of social networking chats and yahoo,gtalk.
You can use either of this based on your preferences. Avoid using Parlingo cuz most ppl who use this application their fb id's are hacked into, its happened with me. So, I don't recommend it!!
For those who wanna use this phone for games:
Please download this application called FPSECE this application lets you play, games from your 3D playstation games on to you Samsung i780,
I haven't used it much but, give it a shot and please mention your review about it for others.
Another amazing application is UCweb7.4 this application works on all WM5 to 6.5.3 versions. This browser cannot be compared to Opera or Skyfire or Bolt. The one thing to use UCweb is its enables you to browse wap sites without any hassles unlike the list of browsers I had mentioned about earlier. Try this
download the latest version of UCweb and try going to www.waptricks.com and download latest MP3 of your fav artist, mini-movies, games, applications absolutely free. I'm sure your gonna love it!!

Please note: All those who use this phone, please ensure you don't use up the 70mb user memory for downloading or installing any application keep it free. Try to download and install all the applications on to your SDCard that way you make sure your phones processor works faster.

Think it's not big problem.
Just change your battery with another which already fully recharge, since originally samsung gave 2 battery as standard package.
Then turn on your phone...it should work well without any hardreset.

Hi there,
I also have this phone, problem is I forgot to charge it last night but it still had 40% in it, and when I woke up the phone's off and I can't turn it on. I tried to charge it but it won't so I bought a new charger, and the LED indicator on top is on(red) but it's flashing, unlike before that it's just steady. Been chargin it for the past four hours, but still it won't turn on. Can anyone in here tell me what to do? Thanks.
