Bronco, 31 Aug 2009You can only get AM OLED screens that produce 16 million coloursoh really. The minimum number of colours of AMOLED screen is 16M
Stick with the real feature of samsungs TouchWiz interface but get rid of windows, we have a winner the SAMSUNG JET, a fast sleek phone with so much fun.

Hello Shan. In the manual of Samsung i8... moreHi There,
For what I understand, shan writes that Win Mobile 6.5 (the WinMo to come, that is) supports 16M Colours. With the current WInMo this is not the case.
I have no idea whether his claim is correct, though. Is it true that WinMo 6.5 supports 16M finally?
BTW, have the i8910 and woudn't change it for the world!!! Really worth it!

Hello Shan. In the manual of Samsung i8000 omnnia II, doest it say that the screen is 16M colours? Because according to GSMARENA.COM website and the website of Samsung in Singapore, it only has 65K of colours. Thank you
shan, 31 Aug 2009i own an omnia as well as an omnia i8000. the difference between both are as follows....omnia... morepls do visit careace which is where u can get cool software just for ur omnia and u can vist xda developers although that is more for htc...a must have software for omnia would be coreplayer garmin gps and omniano haha...u will need to google it up to search for a cracked one....peace
i own an omnia as well as an omnia i8000.
the difference between both are as follows....omnia 2 has a higher resolution screen then omnia(4 x to be exact),an amoled screen which supports 16million colour when winmo 6.5 is released(currently limited to 65k),a 3.5mm jack, the cube media which is very interactive as the omnia 2 has graphic acceleration unlike omnia and sound system is very good and clear...touchwiz 2 is already maturing well with the winmo..AND NO STYLUS....why? BECAUSE YOU DONT NEED ONE....omnia 2 is designed to be managed with finger and unlike i phone os u dont need to fingers to zoom in or out....just only 1!!!1 and the new resistive screen with haptic feedback is excellent...very responsive and i would say its almost 90% to a capacitive touchscreen so u wont feel much difference with it...sadly no multi touch like i phone but theres no use for that too..memory is 8GB but expandable...now whether its laggy or not....DEPENDS....u can control the performance of ur cpu...i set it at auto..and the response is good...programme launching is very fast...about 1 second after u press it...but i believe it need a newer ROM cause its like its running vista haha...battery life excellent can last few days with wifi on and intermittent game and song and movie....and movie watching is excellent...whether u should get this phone? well if u want a win mo..this is the best out there...if u want capacitive with greater camera then go for omnia hd...about the accelerometer...unlike omnia u cant set it manually..its automated...which is a good thing trust me.if anyone wants to ask any question about omnia 2 just IM me at shansp3...sorry i dont sell mobile...i got mine from singapore...its cheaper there...dirt cheap haha..

Star_knight79, 30 Aug 2009Just to share some comment. Omnia II can really be a big gun, a killer. However, it's so sad... moreThe screen is actually 16 million colours. It's just that for the moment, Windows Mobile only utilizes 65K colours, so this is not a fault of Samsung.
Just to share some comment.
Omnia II can really be a big gun, a killer.
However, it's so sad that they wasted their AMOLED by just offering 65K of color. Besides, the review also stated that they have some problem browsing with flash. This two point seriously stopped me from changing my current 5800 Music Express to Omnia II. Windows Mobile....a bit scarry experience. Start-up time like taking years.
Samsung your gun is still not powerful enough. I'm still a very happy Nokia 5800 ME user. :-p
Anonymous, 28 Aug 2009hey dude!in the review gsmarena said the touch screen is capacitive!is it true?!plz somebody t... moreWindows Mobile 6.1 is incapable of supporting capacitive screens, so it has to be resistive.
Omnia II could have been a nice phone but it seems Samsung released it too early - it almost feel like, big boss said go live and developers just stopped typing and they shipped the phone. LOTS of software issues
1. Volume rom settings too low to hear anything
2. Reading in the sun is almost impossible
3. Email just doesn't work - you can at best see your inbox, it lists other email folders but has no way to display the content for them. Even the simple feature to choose which folders to sync is altogether missing
4. Samsung supports does not exist - in USA, they don't honor international support and in other locations, they don't seem to know anything - their website seems to be built by people who just got into the schools - couldn't even get graduates to build it.
Stay away from Samsung
at 117g an a better than average battery life, i would've gotten this phone. However now i use Nokia N79 and quite content with the features.
Im waiting for the future unborn sibling of this Omnia II. Why? Coz of Windows Mobile 7. This phone rocks, theres no doubt. But i would be quite sad to be stuck in a stopgap OS when WM7 comes out later.
but i hope the features stay: 3.7" and all
hi every body specially to the Omnia lover!can anybody help me!is it sensitive such like capacitive phone?!in the review said that it's really sensitive but i had a bad experience i bought Omnia1 and the touch was really poor and not sensitive because it was resistive and now,i am really not sure about that!so please help me and answer my question!is it really sensitive such like i8910 Omnia HD?
