Hello everyone... I've just bought this phone and I want to ask something...
1) what is "Proximity sensor for screen auto turn-off and ambient light sensor"?? can you explain to me? and this sensor is for what??
2) why is my accelerometer only works when I see photos and not on the other pages like today screen, start menu, main menu, etc.?? is there settings for this? or, it is only work for photos only??

my device version is I8000NXXJA5 and using WinMo 6.5 Pro

thank you very much

> In reply to jun @ 2010-06-01 14:26 from wHrS - click to readI never said this is a bad phone, infact i have complimented it. All i said was I think the HTC devices are more professioanlly build. I still have win 6.1 on the device and its working fine for me. Where did u get the 6.5.3? Can anybody upgrade or will have to be done by Samsung service centers?

you talk so much. yet you like the phone anyway.
i have this phone for more than six months now.
i have so many complaints b4 it was upgraded to win6.5.3. but now that it's 6.5.3, it's the best smartphone i suppose.

Before I begin I have to say this is my personal opinion and if anybody thinks I am wrong, so be it, I am not going to argue. I have had the device for almost 2 weeks now and this is what I think:
The problem with Samsung has always been lack of professionalism. I have noticed this in all their products. This phone comes with hardware that is totally unbelievable with its price tag( I bought this here in Iran for about 450 USD). As Samsung is a chip and LCD producer , they can manage to keep the price low. Anything close to this in HTC products would be Touch HD, still it lacks many of the hardware of this device and the price tag is about 150 USD higher. But somehow engineers in HTC have managed to produce products that are professional and its as if they have reached maturity, while this Samsung with higher technology still looks like a toy. I think people at Samsung should hire professionals in mixing design + color + technology.
But overall this is a good machine.

I don't know if there is Winmo 6.5 / Winmo 6.5.3 in your country India bec. I do not live there but try to go to Samsung Service Centre and tell them when will be the released of Winmo 6.5 and Winmo 6.5.3 in your country India bec. here in our country there is already Winmo 6.5 but the update for Winmo 6.5.3 is not yet availabe bec. I went to Samsung Service Center and told them if they have already the update of Winmo 6.5.3 for my phone OMNIA II, so I will just have to wait for a couple of Months for the released of Winmo 6.5.3 for my phone OMNIA II here in this county...

For the one who have said don't beleive at me is that if there is no upgrade yet for your phone Omnia II to winmo 6.5.3 in Samsing Service Centre is that why would you replace it and but Nokia N8 and that's not the solution my suggestion try waiting for the update of winmo 6.5.3 just a couple of months and will be released soon that's all and if you buy Nokia N8 its OS is only Symbian ^3 OS and Winodws mobile OS are much better comparing to OS Symbian and furthermore the cpu processor of Nokia N8 is only ARM 11 680 MHz processor which is slow bec. OMNIA II has 800 Mhz cpu processor more faster that NOKIA N8 and third the battery life of Nokia N8 is only 1200 Mah which is poor battery comparing to OMNIA II it has 1500 Mah which has more battery life power comparing to Nokia N8 so think about it before you buy Nokia N8 and think first before you post here and here's my proof that Winmo 6.5.3 will be released this May second half just go to this site I will give to you;
