OS unstable. Phone freezes from time to time. I have just returned my 2nd brand new phone to the dealer. Nice software features, Garmin navigation is great, but all of this is no good on an unstable platform. The 8Mpix camera is not as good as the 5Mpix I have on my Nokia N95. The display is absolutely amazing. There's 1 downside about a large display: your (my) thumb is not agile enough to reach all corners of the screen.
A VERY serious shortcoming on such an expensive business phone: you can't search by company name if you have entered any information in the name/surname field (I never enter names in my phone, always download from outlook). Its truly a pity that such great hardware has been let down by inferior software.
this firmware thing is pretty confusing. so does flashing your firmware mean you're hacking the phone? what if it screws up your phone? anyway to restore it to default settings?
Also, let's say I buy the phone from Hong Kong which can read Chinese, if I flash to the latest (but unofficial) Hong Kong firmware, that would mean the new firmware can still read Chinese? how about other firmwares? Would it still be able to read Chinese? or only Hong Kong firmware can read the language?
Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Yes, opera mini5 beta and its previous ver(v4.2 or somthing) have some lags on my HD. they become too slow after some minutes and even freezing eventually which u should restart the phone or even remove the battery. They both run on java but that doesnt mean java on ohd has problem i currently have some apps running on java and they work flawlessly
Opera mobile 10 works perfectly on this phone i havent had any single issue with it, it runs on symbian,BTW. Its a great browser and its very similar to the apple Safari.

Jai, 15 Nov 2009Ive been following the omnia forums since about 3 weeks now, wat ive been reading is mostly po... moreI think your queries on browsing and Route 66 have already been answered. Regarding the size issue, I remember that I did post Rohit's & my discussion a few dayz earlier (to your query only)which covered it rather well.
But to reiterate, size is totally subjective. I am 6'2" tall and have big hands so have no problems in operating it single handedly. Since its screen is very reponsive, one handed operation becomes all the more easy. For a medium sized or a small guy, it could be too big to handle as per the respective situation. So you have to measure it for your ownself and according to your comfort.
I also think that this phone is very sleek compared to what all it has to offer so have no problems in carrying it in my pocket. If you buy the correct leather pouch, then you could carry it on your belt also which looks classy and dosen't even let you know that you are carrying anything. Believe me, people turn their eyes around to "LOOK" when the dazzling Omnia HD comes out of the pouch into your hands. So do consider & balance it out. For me, it works just amazing.
I bought this phone just to experience a few things.
First of all, I rubbed its screen by placing it in the sand, and using my foot, I rotated it clockwise and counterclockwise. Saw a number of scratches.
Dropped it from Eiffel Tower, and it broke.
Put it in the a water stream, and its display gone.
I don't like this phone, it failed my tests to be recommended for purchase.
