where do you find the software from 4.4.2 kitkat for the samsung galaxy i9000? please write me as soon as possible , thanks !
Just upgraded to KitKat (4.4.2) and I have to say, I'm impressed, for a small phone made in 2011, it's still impressively quick. Though KitKat was intended to work with low memory environments so perhaps that explains it. It all seems to work, though I can't seem to find any battery saving options in settings. Well worth it, though it takes a while and it's not simple. If you can rebuild re-install your computer, you can do this...
For those interested in "how" then you first need to root your phone and install clockwork mod, the root exploit you use will depend on the baseband version you have, (the three or four letters on the end, mine is jzxq, so I used a jzx root flash, or something like that.) then make a full backup with clockwork mod. Back that up to your PC. Then reset to factory defaults. Then you flash the kitkat ROM, (from xda-developers) reboot. Check it comes up. If it comes up, then back into clockwork mod to flash the Google apps. Then reboot, and you're done. If you don't flash Gapps, you don't get Play or Gmail, etc.
