After upgrading to the latest Kies (126.96.36.19953_99) I cannot connect my phone to the Kies anymore. I have UK, Gingerbread (2.3.3)phone and never installed custom ROMs on it. Kies is intalled on Windows Vista.
This is so frustrating. Will Samsung ever learn anything? Do they even test their software before rolling out upgrades?
Google must do something about this. Otherwise Android will be confined to geeks and mosochists.
I am a software engineer and have certainly had enough of Samsung's cock ups.

coolguy07, 03 Jul 2011Can anyone tell me why do we apply a lagfix...i mean how it gives double performance ??
What lagfix does is to change the file system from Robust File System ( RFS ) to Fourth Extended File system ( ext4 ).
Ext4 is a faster file system than RFS but less stable, that's why Samsung prefer RFS over ext4. Stability.
Lagfix, in my opinion, isn't really necessary on Froyo 2.2.1 because it doesn't lag.
Hope that helps.
