hi guys...android 2.3.3 is it official for samsung galaxy S....I mean is it released by samsung developers or what...
nasty, 23 Jun 2011Thanks very one... But then why Samsung saying Official upgrade would take time to come?I honestly don't know about the "delay" that they've said...Android 2.3.3 has been released in a lot of regions as you will see in samfirmware or xda-developers. In fact, my region is one of the last ones to get an update but we already have it. Maybe they are just too dumb to look around and do a proper job? A lot of people (including myself) have a lot of complaint with the customer service being provided by Samsung all around the world. Also, maybe your phone is on contract like our US counterparts? The delay with these as just staggering and mind blowing even. As a side comment, the upgrade (for my phone) actually contained the flash player - which was later updated automatically by Android Market. Also, I manually flash firmwares to my phone so I don't know what happens with a Kies update(I am actually running Android 2.3.4 right now). As one of the members here said, try typing flash player in the market - I've checked it and the app appears in my phone. I hope your problem gets resolved ASAP. Another possible option is to look for a direct download link for the apk file - you can just manually install this by opening it in your phone (in the same way that you run executables in computers). This is of course assuming that you are on Android 2.2 or higher.
hi guys.. i just wanna ask the all the expert in samsung i9000, if i can use the battery of samsung i 9003 to samsung i9000?
please please need an answer for my questions..
arman, 21 Jun 2011Thank you for the links, I read it and unfortunately I don't feel confident enough to do it...... more@arman.
Regarding Touchwiz 4 for the SGS. I personally do not know if Samsung will officially develop it for the SGS. I don't see any problem with them doing it as the good people over at XDA have managed it so Samsung ought to release an official update for us.
All the best.
fatos, 21 Jun 2011yes its ok Freefaller,I understand ...its my first day using galaxy S,first day using android ... more@fatos.
All smart phones have low battery life compared to older phones that were just capable of calling and texting.
However, the SGS does have quite decent battery life for a smart phone. Once you've run it through a few charging cycles the battery will be calibrated and you will see an improvement in battery life.
Other things to consider to preserve battery are, turn off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HSDPA when not needed. Turn off Live wallpapers and set the wallpaper to a plain black one. Disable GPS and background data synchronization.
A good app to download from the Android market is Juice Defender which will automatically alter system settings to preserve battery life.
nasty, 22 Jun 2011Hi All, I mailed and asked samsung india about OS upgrade of I9000 and I9003, they replied ... moreIn Finland I upgraded it to Gingerbread, with Samsung Kies. Only battery is just going down by the Android-System Pretty fast.... IF it's just not went till your country yet?

I did find Adobe reader, Adobe creatpdf but not Adobe Flash player 10.x
Our members on the Forum said they have Upgraded to Gingerbread....but then why is Samsung saying need to wait for official Gingerbread upgrade...
I wanna decide between I9000 and I9003 ... priority for one which gets Gingerbread..

But then why Samsung saying Official upgrade would take time to come?
nasty, 22 Jun 2011Does GS I9000 has Adobe Flash 10.1 support? Initially it didn't had... but said to have it ... moreAndroid 2.1 does not have support for flash and so if you haven't upgraded your firmware from this, then your phone will not have flash 10.x support. Starting from android 2.2 and up, android phones (including the SGS of course) will have the capability. Just update the phone and download the adobe flash from the market. Latest version is 10.3.x.
hello my fellow mobile lovers,
I have 9000 GT for about 2 weeks now. I have bin waiting for a long time for its price to get down and in the end it was worth it.I have also bin reading most of the review's and comments by users and its pretty evident that this phone is hard to miss. 1st off, the froyo version which came with the phone sucks (lags nd crashes often ).After a week of using it on froyo I decided to upgrade to 2.3.3 gingerbread(yes its available in INDIA through KIES V 22.214.171.1245366 which u'll get from the samsung site).Soon after I did this, the performance of the device is at its best (no lags at all, improved battery performance .etc).
The next thing i wold like to say is for all those who are confused abt getting 9003 or 9000....personally I will also admit dat I had the same comfusion when i was goin 2 buy. But the AMOLED disply is literally mind blowing( yes the iphone 4 may hav more sharper displays, but am compairing to the phones in its segment). The next best display which I think is only on the S2(but its much more expensive).
SO FOLKS DON'T BE CONFUSED GT-I9000 IS YOUR PHONE.U'LL NEVER REGRET FOR THE EXTRA PENNY'S U PAY. I ADMIRE SAMSUNG FOR BRINGING UP THIS FINE DEVICE.
HAVE FUN and KEEP IT REAL ;)
