[deleted post]Guys...!!
There is really something strange about i9000 available at cheaper rate.. since raj mentioned as i9000 are made in korea.. i just went to korean online shopping site and checked the price and it is 935,000 wons which if you convert will become 37,000 rupees.... in the below link you can compate galaxy ace and galaxy s price. Galaxy ace which costs 495,000 korean wons, if you convert them into indian rupee, it is Rs.20000, whereas Ace is sold at 15,000 in india.
So if ace is given for 15000 in india, i think i9000 can also be sold at 25000k in india. so they are not re-furbished, these are actually orginals.
in short,
Product ===Korean market value == Indian market value
i9000 ===== Rs.37000 ==== Rs.25000
i9003 ===== Rs.20000 ==== Rs.15000
i am not sure whether the price variance is reasonable. i checked in US markets as well, but they are selling i9000 with eclair and not froyo... but the price in USA also comes to 24,000 indian r-upee..+

But those phones were definitely not manufactured abroad and sent to India. Maybe Samsung India is refurbishing their own old stock and reselling it? If this is the case it is something which should be taken up with the head office of Samsung. I called Samsung Korea company today, to confirm this. The manufacturing engineers there told me that they have not produced a new i9000 since last September. The last i9000 they manufactured was on Sept 20, 2010.... and it came pre-installed with 2.1 Eclair.

AnonD-2275, 28 Mar 2011seriously? your 2.2.1 is lagging? your the only person I know that says 2.2.1 is lagging. even... moreI actually flashed 2.3.3 already (XXJVK) and for me it was a mixed bag. The UI appears to be faster compared to JS8 (as well as JS7 and JS5 for that matter) but seems to be a bit sluggish when handling apps. Battery is something I am still observing although people are saying that it gave them the best battery performance ever.
I am not quite sure if the sluggish behavior is related to app compatibility or the OS itself and so I am thinking of going back to JS8. In terms of UI, its a bit slower than JVK but as far as overall performance is concerned, its the one from which I had the smoothest performance from my phone. What do you think? Just in case, I've installed the version of JVK with the bootloader for GB but based from discussions in XDA, this bootloader should work fine with 2.2.1.

I9000 is newly launched with Android 2.2 from Samsung.
Do not believe ppl on this forum who are just writing without concrete proof.
In fact, you should not believe me also without confirming yourself. You can call up Samsung themselves to confirm. Also you can call up Flipkart, Letsbuy, Adexmart, Poorvika, Nueteche or any store that is selling I9000 in your region.
I myself have bought I9000 for Rs.22410.
And yes, I9000 will get Gingerbread upgrade:

AnonD-2880, 27 Mar 2011My phone came with the official 2.2.1 right out of the box. It is still lagging alot.seriously? your 2.2.1 is lagging? your the only person I know that says 2.2.1 is lagging. even w/ the RFS, the phone is fast now compared to 2.2 & 2.1.
another leaked 2.3 is out again. this time, it's a 2.3.3 XXJVK firmware. the firmware is BETA but you can flash it on your phone (via Odin) if you like.
i think the SGS is the best Android Smartphone at the moment 10/10
