Samsung Galaxy S is still the best. iPhone 4 fails...
Jazz, 07 Jun 2010i love how every forum i've been to today, haters of the n8 are trying to bash it without even... moreHave you ask yourself why you love Nokia? is it performance? is it the features? or just in love with name Nokia?
Anonymous, 08 Jun 2010No Flash? Come on!complaining about the flash., my god., this phone is not built to be a camera... looking for flash., by digicam.,lolz
Oh My God., I already have this baby… who’s says that it is not good with sunlight., go ahead and think what you think., I can even watch video on direct sunlight in a very clear quality., its very light and its really fast.. the sounds is great., im so inlove with it.,^^
No Flash?
Come on!
Jazz, 07 Jun 2010i love how every forum i've been to today, haters of the n8 are trying to bash it without even... moreYup, Im tempted by the N8. 12 MP, Xenon flash. But then they go and spoil it by putting Symbian^3 on it.
Course the other reason why no other people go on the Nokia forums, is becaus they no longer consider Nokia a threat.
The N8 is a nice phone, and Nokia will always be a threat, but I think the tides are turning. FroYo, 2.2 will see to that. Just need the hardware makers to get their act together to compete on the hardware level.
I think Samsung Galaxy S, and to a certain extent, HTC Desire has made people sit up and take notice.
But I know loads of self confessed Nokia fanboys that have just had enough of Nokias. They went out and purchased E72, N97, etc etc... so much hype and they never lived up to their reputation.
they just copied iphone! not only with the shape but also with menus and everything! am sure it's a great phone but why you need to copy another phone anyway? HTC has more character in it. shame on samsung:-)
i love how every forum i've been to today, haters of the n8 are trying to bash it without even have seeing it. Yet wen you go to the nokia n8 forum, not a single other phone is being discussed but thta one. Shows how much of threat that n8 really poses. God i love nokia.
big ups to samsung for this phone too though. even though im not really a fan of anything else but nokia, i do appreciate this phone. this is by far the best android phone, but dont bite ur tongue cause anything could go wrong with it (just as things went horrible wrong with the omnia hd, and now the x10).. so samsung fan boys, chill out and dont hate...
peacee
Play.com still shows 10th June 2010 as the release date while other retailers, Expansys and Clove have bounced their release date around.
Does anybody know if 10th June 2010 is realistic?
Even when retailers were suggesting 1st June, Play.com stuck to 10th June. When the retailers pushed to 14th and even 17th June, Play.com are still at 10th June.
Anyone in the know?
I can't wait for 10th June. Don't think I can wait another week to burn my N97.
You know what put me off the Nokia N8? The Nokia N97. N97 by all accounts has the best hardware, is capable of so much, yet is let down by a lacklustre and frankly boring OS. Developers take an age to provide apps that actually work - and I don't care what's round the corner. The OS is dated.
Then of course, you get all the actual problems of running it, lack of memory, unable to update/install programs due to lack of memory despite not having anything on there. When you do put your messages on the mass memory 32 Gig area, it corrupts and you've got nothing left.
One of my friends has moved to the HTC Desire after being a Nokia fan because Nokia has lost the way with it's OS. At the time, it was the be all and end all. Nokia must move on.
That's why Im going with the Samsung Galaxy S. Android is finally there.
Anonymous, 07 Jun 2010that video does not represent the quality of galaxy at all. I can't tell if this was actually ... moreperhaps, ppl also tend to post videos with the phones brightness turned down? I'm sure that this phone has the best "sunlight visibility" out of all phones available....
Optional, 07 Jun 2010Video of Galaxy S screen outdoors, in direct sunlight:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qdRY4ZLdmkthat video does not represent the quality of galaxy at all. I can't tell if this was actually taken with the galaxy, if it was then it was most definitely down-converted to a much-much lower quality that the original.

thnx for your reply WhachooGonnaDo hope you'll enjoy your new beast and hey share with us your experience with the phone but only after heavy usage ^_~
P.S. and for other people who are bashing the phone grow up and relax no need to be fanboys; oh and posting comments here and following Galaxy S news clearly shows that you are jealous ;)
Anonymous, 07 Jun 2010hey loba and WhachooGonnaDo first congrats on getting the SAMSUNG Galaxy S hopefully we'll fol... morewell I can't compare it to omnia but I can tell you about the camera in general. video is very nice; though it gets some 'jumping' with fast objects. low light conditions are a problem also, but not anything that someone would not expect and be disappointed from it.
I cannot compare amoled vs super amoled but I again mention my 'wow' when I saw the home screen on this phone.
multitouch is great; in fact I have yet to find troubles with the touchscreen, and this is the 1st time I own a touch phone which would make it more difficult for me to adjust; but no, everything's perfect.
for your question.. no, that wasn't me :)
Jean, 07 Jun 2010With all due respect to Nokia and N8 fans. It's a camphone, not a smartphone. We, phone geeks,... moreSince when is the N8 not a smartphone? symbian^3 may be slow and a bit dated compared to iPhoneOS and Android, but it is a smartphone in addition to being a great camera phone..
Frankly I like the Design of the N8 but the Spec difference of the N8 compared to Galaxy S is pretty big(Ram wise, mhz) I also currently have the I8910 but will upgrade pretty soon since i dont really use the cam ever and mainly get this phone cuz its 1: Android
2: thin as hell
3: Huge screen but not too big like hd2 ;)
hope others will follow so we can create a huge hacking&tweaking community
hey loba and WhachooGonnaDo first congrats on getting the SAMSUNG Galaxy S hopefully we'll follow you soon ^_^
Second I have a couple of questions to you guys:
1-Loba since you had omnia i8910(as me XD ) can you share with us the camera experience for example HD video recording, is it an uprgrade from omnia i8910 or worse downgrade? also the same question goes for still imaging is it better than omnia i8910 in terms of outdoor and dim light conditions (obviously without using the flash)
2-as an owner of an AMOLED screen I want to know is it worth it to upgrade to Super AMOLED? comparisons between omnia i8910 and galaxy S are welcomed ^^
3-Finally how is the multitouch? one of the main reasons I want to upgrade my omnia i8910 to galaxy i9000 is multitouch gaming.. can anyone try an SNES/Gameboy emulater and tells us his experience?
thnx and I would appreciate the answers from the early adopters (come on help us on convincing this beast :-p
P.S. WhachooGonnaDo your name looks familiar to me I think I played with someone in modnation racers(PS3 game) that have similar name ^_^
Akash from nepal, 07 Jun 2010Nokia n8 is the most awaited handsets in the world no mobile phone can not competion with the n8With all due respect to Nokia and N8 fans. It's a camphone, not a smartphone. We, phone geeks, aren't attracted by a pink teenager high res camera phone with symbian.
