Cool, my next phone. After with nokia for so many years, think to move on to other OS.

Hopefully symbian^5 could be as best as android.

man I would love to buy this phone. but after using the omnia hd and getting almost no updates, I just cant trust samsungs future support of the product. I think Im going to choose between the nexus one or the nokia N8. If only samsungs support was better......:(

And for Samsung fans who are drooling to see it can generate 90M triangle: this is useless since developers will make games for all android phones in mind not to particular this icopy phone. Also the Ui looks so childish. While other android phones comes with a far better ui.

july first week or so.I even feel Nokia N8 is very sexy with a desecnt performance and great camera with xenon flash(Rocking picture quality).
Galaxy S is only very little ahead of the above and it doesnt deserve that price.

Galaxy S will get Froyo!

http://asia.cnet.com/2010/05/2...royo-update/

"... Though it will initially ship with Android 2.1 (Eclair), we have been told that this model will enjoy an upgrade to the latest Android 2.2 (Froyo). Luke Lee, senior product manager for mobile phones, revealed this during an interview, though he couldn't be more specific as to when the update will be available. Google announced this new version last week during its Google I/O conference. User enhancements for Froyo include Flash 10.1 support, better Exchange integration and the ability to install applications on external storage rather than on the ROM only."

Apparently a LED-flash for the camera will be included.
Please verify with your sources again.

Hope this phone does not have poor sound quality like the Omnia HD at 16KHz AMR audio completely ruined the phone, instead of having 48KHz AAC audio codec, would be better.

Does anybody know..Please..?

God how I wish that all comments related to the word "Camera" or "Flash" are deleted, this debate or database of peoples opinion has turned merely into a complaining and whining about the phones features and future, nothing really productive, no future information, just a lot of posts that have as much valuable content as a gossip conversation of little kids....

To those people complaining about no flash on this baby then get off your father's computer and go to bed already, it's past your curfew.
It's been stated over 200 times already, yes it has NO flash cope with it or just go troll on some other cell phone, I hear iPhone opinion forums are great.

What the hell is LED flash going to do anyways I've had many phones and each and every one of their led flashes were trash compared to the Xenon flash.
BUT the Xenon flash adds ALOT of bulk to the phone and since they wanted to keep this form factor "slim" why mess with it by adding a xenon flash...heck why add a flash at all its only useful as a flashlight. And with a super AMOLED screen capable of displaying amazing colors and brightness why not just download a flashlight app which utilizes the screen instead?
All in all the led flash is not a big problem, work around it.

You want to take night photography? Buy your own stand alone camera for $150 and blow the 5mp quality of this phone away.

Has samsung improved the build quality of these newer smartphones?

My reasons currently for avoiding this are just the no free gps, web browser has no flash, no camera flash. Main reason is that it has no stereo speakers. well those three reasons are impportant to me.

Samsung may in due time integrate flash support for web browser, this is no biggie but it should be included straight out the box as standard. Camera has no LED or xenon so you can't take a shot in relativley low light.

I'm sure it's an excellent piece of hardware & samsung are going to need lots of apps to start the phone. I'm still keeping hope for a HTC HD3 or the Evo 4G coming to Uk as it has WCDMA, UDMA, WIMAX, it can run 3.5G aswell as 4G. Nokia N8 or Samsung I8520 is my fav still as it includes all the hard tech I'm wanting in my next phone.
