Is there any way to disable the TouchWiz interface? If no, I won't be getting this set...

but samsung will still supply them with the old amoled screens and old processors .

HTC is no better at upgrading firmware than Samsung:

If you want guaranteed firmware upgrades, go for iPhone or Nexus One, but then with both you're stuck with weak hardware. It's a Catch 22.

It's just been launched in Singapore. Approx US$275 on a US$27 data plan for 2 years. A bit disappointed about the lack of camera flash though...so used to that on my Omnia.

In fact Samsung wont easily upgrade galaxy S to 2.2(froyo) in 2010 it will drag upto early 2011,better to go with Desire which is upgradable to 2.2 in june 2010

I owen both HTC Desire and Legend. But can not wait to see Samsung I9000 Galaxy to come out. It has many advantages over my HTC Desire phone. Mainly the Size, Video, Light, DViX,Screen and so on.

today hear about Acer Stream but does not come close to Galaxy. Screen smaller and weight is more than 140 over 118 of Samsung.

> In reply to Lol @ 2010-05-27 19:36 from KFP0 - click to readLook, they are official firmwares, i know that there are also plenty of cookers that make pretty damn good firmwares for what is available... by that I mean symbian 5th OS. which blows IMHO big time, i know that there wasnt a huuuuge support for the I8910 in apps and firmwares but still, that's cause the phone was based on symbian... I'm sure that this is the best choice of Anroid phone you can go for...

I was going to buy the desire until the galaxy showed up. I think it's worth to wait 1 or 2 months before it's release. I hope it's not going to cost more then 500

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-05-27 19:30 from 2SFc - click to readThese are not official firmwares, and all of them have bugs. What do you want: To get firmware officially or Beg in front of hackers to provide firmware update. I want to see you begging for support from Samsung or hackers. It will be a great scene. Lol on you.
