The Swype input in Galaxy S will be a special feature revolutionising the texting.

> In reply to Rajdeep @ 2010-04-28 06:29 from P5J6 - click to readYou're kidding right? These phones have nothing to compare. The N8 is a multimedia phone, just for shooting pics and video. The galaxy is on another scale completely.
If you want to speak spec wise only the samsung galaxy far surpasses the X8 It's not even comparable.

Nikia N8 lanche , it price is Rs 22000 or 470 USD in inda. I will hope samsung galaxy price is Rs 17000 or 380 USD in india. If price is above the 380 USD the Nokia N8 is better option in india.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-04-27 14:36 from MB15 - click to readThe ONLY thing better in N8 than in Galaxy S is the camera, EVERY other thing is worst..from screen to processor, built in mem, HD recording and reproduction, OS, apps, etc.
So pls compare apples to apples, N8 is a super 5800xm...no more no less.

The high end Nokia N8 is expected to hit UK market with the price tag of 325 GBP in third quarter - this price factor will be a big challenge for Galaxy S. Unless resonably priced, it is worth waiting for N8 istead of wasting huge money on Galaxy S which doesn't have HDMI and has only 5 MP

ok, so i've emailed a couple online vendors and asked specifically if their Galaxy units had LED flash like their product pages claimed. they've confirmed that the phones have LED flash. but i remain a skeptic, since i havent seen a photo of the phone where the flash is visible.
so for all you out there complaining about the absence of flash - you may not need to worry after all

I would LOVE to see a good dual LED/Xenon arrangement on a top-notch smartphone, but its not much of a deal breaker for me. For instance, I was REALLY rooting for the X10, but the apparent lack of multi-touch due to hardware issues put it out of the running.
Let's face it, outside of a couple phone models, flashes -Xenon or LED- are substandard anyways. I avoid using a flash whenever possible, because more often than not, they make a picture worse in all but really bad lighting conditions.
And, the lack of a flash doesn't render HD recording useless.
Of course, it all depends on what kind of user you are. I almost never use a phone camera unless I need to take a picture, and I don't have my P&S on me. If your phone is your primary or ONLY camera, then I can understand
How many top-shelf smartphones have a great camera with a great flash? Not many. Even the X10 only has a LED flash. I would think that once manufacturers consider what is most important to most of their target customers, a great flash quickly falls by the wayside. Better flashes add to bulk and cost to the unit, and are a greater drain on the battery. And for many heavy smartphone users, a camera is an essential but ultimately secondary function of the phone.

It has a flash!
Are you happy now?
Everybody bent out of shape of the fucking thing...and it In it.
Can WE all relax now?
Can the Android be updated to 2.2?
