Why one would go for this phone as Galaxy S II will be available in a short span of time with better hardware and software updates and that too at the same price band. I dont understand what Samsung wants to prove by launching this phone.

Great phone, a perfect solution that falls between a normal single core and your dual core. But the big question is how long do we have to wait in Canada for it to be released. Love the Galaxy S but impatiently waiting for the Galaxy S Plus (I9001)

lol, so instead of updating it's old galaxy s'es to Gingerbread, they put a faster CPU in and made a "new" galaxy S phone... That's ridiculous this time...

Samsung it's a greed company they don't want to make perfect phones like Omnia HD which is still a great phone compares to new phones and people still use it and they don't buy new Samsung Phones.
So they always make a flaw to make you constantly buy phones from them.
Even SGSII has flaws like no 3D no HD resolution like HTC sensation
