I have just had a little play with the Omnia in the Phones4U in Norwich! My first experience with a WM - I quite like it!
Beware if you have fat fingers though - I found texting quite hard! Possibly threough not used to using a touch phone though...
For those who worry about lack of resolution / colours etc - dont be. I will be moving from an N95 so was really worried about losing screen quality, but from what I saw in 10 mins, those worries were unfounded. The web browser looks excellent.
They were selling it £35 Orange, £45 o2, £55 Vodafone, with lesser prices available, but having to pay for the handset obviously.
I think my line of attack is going to be wait for it to come out on o2 Direct, play them off against Orange and get a free handset with unlimited Web Bolt-on for £35. Don't really care what mins/texts that gives me as I am sure it will be more than I need anyway...
This phone dun have the stylus pen slot but is the pen with the phone? Could anybody suggest me where I should keep that pen when not in use?
@techie. How much does the 8g and 16g go for? Btw, the byline of iphone should now be, "the Omnia competitor". Iphone is not the benchmark, Omnia is. =)
Hi guys, Im Andy and im from Manila, Philippines. I was just reading about the specifications of the new Samsung i900 Omnia and was wondering if the touchscreen is also scratch proof. I mean it should be cause basically its a touchscreen phone and more prone to scratches. I learned that some other touchscreen phones are not scratch proof. I would appreciate it if anyone who has this type of phone give me some light on the subject and help me make a better decision whether its worth it to buy this phone or not. Thanks a lot in advance.
best touch phone out, closest iphone killer, too bad its winMo n not s60 but great job samsung. 1 question tho, do anybody know if d speaker & ear piece speaker is everything in speaker? always hated samsung for making their speaker and ear piece speaker as the same thing.
Hello guys! I am now a proud owner of the Omnia Sgh I900;(16gb inside). Congratulations and thanks to Samsung for the birth of my dream phone. I'm pretty sure the technology and features on The Omnia will be the benchmark of all future phones no matter its origin or brand name. To make this short, Omnia is the future of handphones UNTIL someone creates handphones instead of using touchpad technology, use hologram for user interface! Remember this my friends, 'WHAT MAN THINK POSSIBLE, MAN CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!'
can u set your own pictures as screensavers on this phone and are they the full screen size?

My point was Home Screens can be customized into your liking with third-party software when you get bored with the widgets and home screens made available in the device/unit. Thank you...

I've recently gotten the Omnia but now finding that the 'programs connect automatically as needed' feature is quite annoying (I would realise in the morning - if I leave my phone on, that it would have been connected on a data call for 7-8 hours!).
Does anyone know how to turn this feature off?
Happy to share my experience on this phone and answer any questions too.
Hey just saw this video on youtube its about unboxing the omnia...really entertaining

I have been personally waiting for this phone for 2 months now, my 18M contract with 02 is long over and I am just waiting for this to come out...I got a chance to play with the omnia when I was in Germany and believe me this phone is truly worth the wait...the camera app especially is one of the best i have seen...
Epoch, 20 Aug 2008If I could just make onething clear...there is a lot of comments here going on about the fact ... morewell said thanks.
also i heard some time ago that t-mobile tend to be the ones who are ultra cautious on releases as they do further heavy testing of new phones to make sure they are right and sound! Which is why they tend to have a smaller range than other networks, but have less problems with returns and stuff? don't know how true that is?
