a follow-up: further to my previous entry, for the rest of the day, there were another 45 min worth of calls, 15 min of GPS, 20 min of web surfing, 20 more sms, a couple of entries into spb finance, and some fiddling around various settings and phonebook. the earlier items, if memory serves, were 50 pictures indoors with autoflash, 10 odd sms.
now it looks like the battery bar is down to 40% battery power. all in all, i am pretty satisfied!
my first major complaint about omnia: somehow it takes a long time to do a search thru the phonebook. it also takes a long time to type into the search dialog box for the phonebook. i suspect there is a bug and the search is not optimised properly.

I am a samsung promoter and last week this phone was a sell out! However it appears that this handset has a minor bug problem or whatsoever.
First of all, it appeared on almost every handset, my customers come back to me and showed me the error.
the error occurs when u use the phone too long and keep using the camera function.
when u use the camera, an error saying something like memory full unable to initialize etc etc. I cleared the task manager and even went to temp folder and cleared everything and it still keeps on giving error.
So far, it can only be solved by rebooting
I hope samsung or someone can solve it or enlighten me

Had used this phone for 3 days now. Looks real cool. Watched a MP4 video on it and was satisfy with the quality. Samsung website support on the phone was not helpful.

Dear V,
F480 is totally different from software platform. F480 mainly lacks wifi and gps. it has smaller screen comapared to omnia. Well omnia has packed with full features upto date. F480 is also compact and rich look... if u look for wi-fi or other features then omnia is best.

dear mee,
also kindly ensure that will this phone works in japan CDMA networks as this phone is not CDMA network compatible..so check this GSM will work in japan.. i have no clue which network is currently operational over there F.Y.I

I am not the best person to comment on battery life as i am quite paranoid and hate to see it plunge to 50% so will charge it very quickly.
However, here are some of my comments:
1. i took about 50 pictures with autoflash and max size, sent 10 plus sms today and battery is at 75%. (wifi and bluetooth is switched off)
2. the battery bar seems to out of the blue just plunges from 100% to roughly 75% instead of moving gradually.
personally i thk the battery life is average but acceptable. will keep you posted.
