Hey guys need help for my first smartphone! Its between xperia p or galaxy s advance.. Ive been in dilemma for a month now and these are my opinions of the pros and cons of these two phones.

Xperia p

Pros: slightly above average8mp camera with 1080p vid rec, ics is available, sleek design, aluminium uninody, box 50gb free storage, mobile bravia engine, beautifull display, 1gb ram, scratch resistant glass slighlty cheaper price tag than gs advance (SGD350) within my budget..

Cons: no sd slot, ui and browser lags a bit, non removable below average battery, small internal storage, slow jb update next year.

Galaxy s advance

Pros: sd slot, removable average battery, decent 5mp cam with 720p vid rec, super AMOLED display, gorilla glass, no major drawbacks

Cons: bad design and quality, 5mp cam, average display, jb update next year still running gb, slightly expensive than XP (SGD380) over the budget.

The xperia p has more to offer with a slightly cheaper price tag (8mp with 1080p rec, 1gb ram) though there are major draw backs such as a below average non removable batt life. and the galaxy advance is slightly more expensive and over my budget and im not really a fan of design and build quality either, though less to offer than xperia p but the remvable batt with average life is worryless, gorilla glass is a plus! And no major drawback whatsoever.

Pls respond Whats your opinion in this? And will updating to ics or jb reduce the batt life? Thanks in advance!

To those who says that SGSA will never get official Jelly Bean, I just got a reply from samsung mobile facebook page yesterday that says:

Hi Hero,

The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade is now available to GALAXY S III owners in Poland and will gradually be introduced to users in other markets. Following this upgrades will soon be available for GALAXY Tab 2 7.0 & 10.1, GALAXY Note 10.1, GALAXY S II, GALAXY Note, GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus, GALAXY S Advance, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Music, GALAXY Chat, GALAXY Ace 2, GALAXY Beam, GALAXY Ace Plus, GALAXY mini II and GALAXY S DUOS.

From Samsung Mobile

Now I'm not sure who's spreading wrong news, is it Samsung or Somebody else. Hoping to get JB still..

> In reply to dashing_mani @ 2012-11-27 14:34 from 6py4 - click to read@ dashing_mani: it depends from which site you want to stream online video. some online video playback require flash plyer, some quicktime, bla bla etc, the good thing is that it has pre-installed flash player so you can watch most online video streams. flash videos consume more battery and therefore new android versions dont support falsh player. you can install falsh plyer off the play-store but it will not be very stable on ics or jb and will crash at times. only gingerbread is the best os right now with pre-installed flash. any online flash video will require good hardware. in short g s advance is capable of running online flash videos...

Dear SGSA users,

At the outset, lets stop fooling our selves.....
It's confirmed, there is no Jelly Bean update for SGSA.
Samsung has confirmed the update is only for models GT-I9100 and above that meet the minimum hardware requirements for the new OS to run (eg: >1Ghz proc,1 or >1GB of RAM)
Moreover, the JB features "Project Butter"; whic actually gives a boost to your phone hardware to ensure lagless experience...
And we all know that the smoothness / lagness of the UI in a smartphone is the function of the GPU which at least should be more sophisticated(DUAL-CORES eG:ARM-mALI 400MP4, ADRENO 320 / 225 / 220 ETC...)....

Even if we get the ICS update by this Q's end it's a boon to us..lets stay calm till then..
