tbe battery is too small. i can't imagine two 1.2 ghz cores on load using just the same amount of power like a 600 mhz single core phone cpu...

Liked the design a whole lot better before they stamped that logo in the front and changed the back cover :|

I've had a little play with the phone when the samsung rep came to the store. Claiming they will aim for the £40 pm price range. its quite snappy and v quick to respond even while mutlitasking. the only real issue i have with the phone is that it just doesnt feel like quality. at this price range you would expect a better construction. As with all high end samsung phones its plastic heaven. its a large handset but im used to it as i have a hd2 on droid so i wasn't put off but people with smaller hands i can see some issues here. ill give it a few pros n cons to sum it up;
pros
great camera
dual core processor (keeps the phone fast!)
crisp screen
snappy ui

cons
the real con for me wass the fact that the phone does not feel like a £500 handset. more like a 200 because its just a big peice of plastic

> In reply to nelsonwmy @ 2011-04-07 11:51 from Ia2L - click to readThis has gotta be the most uneducated comment.

0.2 Ghz improvement is huge
1. into a 8.9mm chassis is a huge feat. Challenge to Apple to get into something slimmer and lighter.
2. It's a dual core in a mobile phone. Apple? Yeah right .. no news yet. iPhone5? come on .. it's a rumor .. say whatever you want.
3. SGS2 has 8MP camera with Flash in a 8.9mm chassis. Apple? Still forever carrying a crappy outdated tech camera module.

Price .. the same .. or worse for Apple when the demand hikes up from 1st launch.

BUT, my respects to Apple lovers, as Apple has it's fantastic concepts and quality of standards and experience where even SGS2 looses out to.

iOS is the one thing Android has still yet to compare itself against.

Hardware on iPhone? .. comeon .. for god's sake stop giving uneducated comments

There are actually 3 versions of SGS 2{rumoured but reports suggests that it is indeed a reality}

1) Super Amoled Plus + Exynos

2) Super Clear LCD + Exynos

3) Super Clear LCD + Tegra 2

It all depends on what version your region will have.
As Samsung has already confirmed regarding Super Amoled Plus version for India,in all likelihood it is powered by Samsung own Exynos.

Why there is NO HDMI for such high end phone? sucks.

Is't this phone too thin? no. SE Arc which is mere 0.2 thicker than this do have HDMI.

There's no Perfect phone in the market.

and to say that ppl will just go for another phone, well if ppl dnt know or cant figure out the potential behind this phone and are to impatient to wait then go them, but anyone who has a clue about phone s will wait for the phone they want and like, as for comparing it to the iphone 5 (if its going to be called this, ive heard a few rumors) ppl who go for android do so for a reason, same as do iphone users, ppl tend to stick to what they know and clever ppl stick to android, hehe.
sorry to rant guys but that comment touched a nerve, so to speak lol

> In reply to nelsonwmy @ 2011-04-07 11:51 from Ia2L - click to readyes you are quite right to say in pc or laptop terms go a 200Mhz jump is not alot but in a mobile phone running an operarating system as light as android it will make a very noticable difference, i for one love the fact they are shall we say 'bulking it up a bit more', just cant wait to get it and get a customised speed rom and kernel for it ;-)

I was going to get a Nokia E7, but I decided to wait for this...I'm really loving the spec sheet, but I'm concerned about the build quality and choice of plastics... I've never liked Samsung's TouchWiz ui,I hope this version is better...
Are there any camera samples?
