HTC sensation just announced ;D wow now we have true competition.. LG vs Motorola.. while Gsii vs Sensation
i think now GSii will Loose there ground because nobody likes the Touchwiz in comparision to HTC Sense. also the plastic body is also hated by the users in comparision to Htc's body which they prefer aluminum !!! wow Galaxy s was true success now Samsung are in trouble.. they should release it NOW before its too late because Htc Sensation will be released within a month :) !!! Samsung.. ur sinking i love Gsii i love Sensation i love Lg i love Moto :D but the competition is now in 100% favor of HTC !!! :) best of luck to all brands !!! Also HTC Never change there release date unlike motorola or samsung or lg or even nokia. who keep changing playing with the hearts of there customers.. wow . HTC has really slapped all the brands very hard this time :) love there strategy !!!

I'm sure about that, Samsung Galaxy S supports MKV container up to 720p (in addition Galaxy S II will support 1080p resolution).
3. USB on the go is there? This feature is not mentioned anywhere other than GSM Arena
Link to the source: http://www.samsung.com/global/...ication.html (look at Connectivity -> USB 2.0 OTG)
10. Does it have similar audio effect like Sony mobiles [Arc etc]?
I'm not sure, but it should support SRS WOW HD.

2.Yes, it can play .avi files with ease.
4.It has a Mobile High Definition Link(MHL) instead of a HDMI port.
5.Using google voice to record calls works well. It can only be done when you make outbound calls though.
7.You can use the app 'vringo'.

> In reply to mike @ 2011-04-12 11:45 from fsWX - click to readHi,
While most Android applications are written in Java, there is no Java Virtual Machine in the platform and Java byte code is not executed. Java classes are compiled into Dalvik executables and run on the Dalvik virtual machine. Dalvik is a specialized virtual machine designed specifically for Android and optimized for battery-powered mobile devices with limited memory and CPU. J2ME support can be provided via third-party-applications.
Android does not use established Java standards, i.e. Java SE and ME. This prevents compatibility among Java applications written for those platforms and those for the Android platform. Android only reuses the Java language syntax, but does not provide the full-class libraries and APIs bundled with Java SE or ME. However, there are multiple tools in the market from companies such as Myriad Group and UpOnTek that provide J2ME to Android conversion services.

Its finally coming to the UK may 1st!! my contact ends on may 5th so i am just waiting to get my hands on this bad boy. i just wish vodaphone would offer unlimited internet data plans since that will be one of the main uses for me. i also really want android devs to make a native android video calling app like facetime. would be so much easier and better quality than qik etc. maybe in the next android 2.4? oh and saying samsung is copying iphone is like saying the mac copied pc.. its silly guys stop..

If this is a copy of the iphone, then apple needs to look out as its copys are better than itself.

hey u all guys who are writing dese crap comments...
you must be knowing that even a person is not 100% perfect in everything...
and this is a electronic device...
no one is forcing you to take it...
if u like it take or else u can choose wateva u like...
dont go on comparing like fools...
try to write some good information about the phone(review or some advantages & disadvantages)....
so that it becomes easy to choose for the person

according to my experience, no mobile is perfect.
so choose the one which can atleast fulfill ur 75-80% of ur needs....

good luck to all guys who get this cell.....even me caz i am also planning :)))))

PEACE....

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2011-04-12 02:31 from Mfy8 - click to readIts probably more of a general comment. One can see the subtle influence that iPhone has on Samsung. Compare the change in shape from Galaxy S to Galaxy S2, from slight curve to more straight lines, just like iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4.

An even more direct example would be the Galaxy Tabs, where Samsung themselves admitted they went back to the drawing board, to change it, after seeing the iPad 2 launch.

So, direct copies? Probably not, but the influence is surely there, as admitted by Samsung themselves.
