TC and others who posted for me
thank you so much, that did work, and my white screen gone, :-) however my home screen and apps have been totally re-arranged, but that doesn't matter I can sort it with time. This made me realize how robust GS2 is, and how easy it is to sort the problems.
Guys one question?
when you HOLD the home button for few seconds and go to TASK MANAGER
there is option there called RAM (RAN manager)
there is also option there to "clear the memory"?
what is this for? and should I clear the memory?
its taken 503MB so far out of 837MB!
is this normal?
anyone esle knows think please reply
Those who wanna keep track of the newest OS avaliable in their region, check this site which update every 2 days: http://www.youmobile.org/blogs...aily-Updated
Those who are having problem updating your OS from 2.3.3 via the 'About Phone' > 'Software Update', simply connect your phone to your pc via Kies and use the Update in Kies, as 2.3.3 (not sure about 2.3.4) software update function in the phone isn't activated yet. 2.3.5 onwards (maybe 2.3.4 is possible too) users are then able to update their OS via the 'Software Update' button in the phone.
Hey guys, hope all is well. I have a major problem at the moment with regards to my OS. My "about phone" setting is telling me i am running Android 2.3.3 but i know that a new release of 2.3.5 is out. I have gone to "search for updates" on the settings section of the S2 and it says there is no update available for the handset. How on earth do i update my OS to 2.3.4 or even 2.3.5 in an easy step by step process. Its bugging me. Hope for some positive feedback!! Cheers.

kirarika, 16 Nov 2011Stated battery life time misleading! have to charge my galaxy II S practically every night! No... moreThis is my 3rd week now with this amazing gadget, way better than the iphone 3gs i had before, but I had the same problem with the battery life which only last for a day.
what i did yesterday was to turn on battery saving mode and set it to kick inn when I have 70% battery left, and I'm telling you its working for me, I'm about 70% now, I think I'm going to recharge tomorrow afternoon.
Try it, it might work for you too!!!!!!!!!!!
This phone is simply awesome!!
The features are excellent and it's worth for the price.
i live in canada and i have the galaxy s2 for bell. i tried to update my phone to android 2.3.4 or 5 from kies. however all it says is that 2.3.3 is the latest update. so i would like to know if there is another way of getting the updates in canada? Please help me?
SGS2 loud speaker and headset sounds quality is really good!
It is better than iPhone and Nokia!
Mani Abdul Sattar, 18 Nov 2011Yesterday I took the big plunge and bought Samsung GS-II after remaining a loyal Nokia custome... moreAndroid is more easy to use than Symbian and S2 have the second best 8 megapixel camera, only 4S is better but S2 is better than both N9 and Arc read the Gsamarena "8 megapixel mega shootout". 2.3.5 improve camera, and ICS will improve it even more!
Latest Kies definetly support S2, but I almost never use Kies because it is not really needed!
I use "Smart Keyboard Pro" from the Market because it is much better than the stock Android keyboard, and this is what is really good about Android because you can always find an alternative, keyboard browser office videoplayer musicplayer..., on the Market!
Yesterday I took the big plunge and bought Samsung GS-II after remaining a loyal Nokia customer for a long time. I am still using Nokia N8 by the way.
I must say it is too early to comment on performance of this phone. However, I want to share some observations.
First of all, this phone is complicated. You have to click unlimited number of times to find what you need to do. No more ease of use of Nokia.
It is much easier to use the touch screen than Nokia. Camera performance is much lower than N8. I was actually disappointed when I took couple of photos side by side with N8 yesterday.
What I miss most is the Nokia Suite/ Nokia Ovi Suite/ Nokia PC Suite. Kies 2.0 is not an appropriate application to be used with a very advanced phone like GS-II. I really hope Samsung could develop something better. It is so annoying to see the message "Your phone is not supported" when you run Kies .. and then it starts ...
Will share more experience later. Your comments are welcomes
